SWR13
I have an Alienware X51 desktop with an Nvidia GT 640 GPU, but for some reason the game won't let me run PhysX. Is my GPU to bad or is there some way to fix this?
Axeroix
my laptop has the GT 645MLE and i can maybe check Geforce experience
SWR13
Check what exactly in experience?
direcyphre
First thing would be to check if you're running DX11, but I believe GeForce Experience can tell you what physx drivers you are currently running.
CptFaustas
Do you have the physx driver?
SWR13
I thought so?How could I tell?
Verryn
You should be able to use Physx. Try downloading the latest drivers, they come with graphics drivers, Geforce Experience, Virtual Audio, and Physx software. If you already have it, it should be in your programs inside Control Panel. DirectX 11 does not seem to be a requirement for using Physx. Edited February 18, 2014 by Verryn
SWR13
Yeah, all of that checks out, but the option is still blacked out in the game settings.Should I be using the windows CP or the Nvidia CP, because I've been using the Nvidia one. Verryn
Yeah, all of that checks out, but the option is still blacked out in the game settings.Should I be using the windows CP or the Nvidia CP, because I've been using the Nvidia one. Use Windows Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features and try to find something by the name of NVIDIA PhysX System Software, or at least has PhysX in the name. SWR13
Yeah, it's there. What do I do with it?
Verryn
I was thinking you might not have it but I guess you can try re-installing it now.
SWR13
Reinstall Warframe or the driver?
Verryn
The driver. xD Though maybe if Warframe has been wonky for you... this might have to go into the support desk.
SWR13
I'm gonna try the driver first, since that takes less time than the game.
mattklanks
It's not you, the game just doesn't work for a small percentage of systems. There hasn't really been any explanation why or any apparent attempt to fix it from the developers.
Katinka
PhysX worked fine for me right up to about 15 minute sago when I installed the new GeForce 334.89 Driver. Since then the option is greyed out in game and GeForce Experience tells me I'm not using optimal settings. If I use GeForce Experience to optimize the settings it will tell me it has change the setting but as soon as I run the game it goes back to PhysX being off, not available in game and not optimized in Experience. Verryn
It still works perfectly fine as of the latest driver update for me.
SWR13
Is there any way to get someone from DE to give an opinion on this?
DE_Js
Sorry for the late reply, we can reproduce the issue. It appears to be an incompatibility with the latest drivers. We are still looking into it. Sorry for the inconvenience
[DE]Corey
Just a heads up if you have recently installed a new driver and have NOT rebooted your PC, you may run in to this issue. If that is the case, try restarting and the option to toggle the Nvidia PhysX effects should work again (assuming it worked before the driver update). Llyssa
Oh. This is good to know. I've been having the same problems. I thought it was something I could resolve on my end, so I had posted in "players helping players". Had no idea it was an actual bug.
VoidPunch
I had the same problem (with a Nvidia 670 GPU) not allowing me to use PhysX. it was resolved after a windows update though so idk what was the cause.
mromutt
It's not you, the game just doesn't work for a small percentage of systems. There hasn't really been any explanation why or any apparent attempt to fix it from the developers. they are constantly testing more hardware, old and new to help with compatibility. that being said drivers can be fickle and sometimes unpredictable.
