If you know anything about business then you know about supply and demand. if there is a large enough demand for something, like it has been in the past, DE will look into adding it, like they have done in the past. Ultimately, DE are super nice, but they are a business and they want to make money. Power creeping has nothing to do with how a minigun would fuction, the gun could simply perform just like other weapons, like the gorgor or the supra for instance. It does not need to be overpowered simply because its a minigun, additionally, because of the nature of the gun, it would already be balanced. How a minigun fuctions: 1. Gun having tremendous recoil while running/jumping, forcing people to fire it while standing still or strafing ,which would make the gun ideal for defense missions, like other weapons already are. 2. Could have an innate punch through, like other weapons already have. 3. High rate of fire but incredibly bad accurancy making the weapon only useful agaisnt large amounts of targets at mid range (like other weapons already are) 4. Since it has high fire rate, it would eat through ammunition fast, again, like other weapons that are already in the game. 5. Wind up time, like other weapons already have. As you see, the idea behind a minigun is already in game in the form of other weapons, like the boltor, soma, supra, gorgon. It feels like your post is simply there to shut down the idea for no other sake than to simply shut down the idea. Well according to some leaked info the prisma gorgon will be the first thing what you could really call machine gun in game, adding 3 rof mods will bring it close to mini gun speed. Holeypaladin Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) A real minigun would be amazing.... totally innaccurate bullet sprayer used as area suppression rather than hoping to hit any single target. Like shotgun type spread with ridiculous fire rates. A heavy machine gun might be nice but it'd have to be a massive arch-gun. The Imperator is a medium machine gun, and the gorgon is a light machine gun. The Soma is an automatic rifle, like the braton. The rifle round on the left is a HMG bullet. The other two rifle rounds are LMG/rifle bullets. The rest are obviously pistol rounds, except for the shotgun shell.
