(disregard Helios since it's been made by the Corpus} Most Sentinels are encased with armor, or just a 'Sentinel Warframe'. But is there flesh or is it just a Tenno robot? I'm pretty sure Sentinels are some sort of race and they've been used by the Orokin (does that mean the Orokin had an alliance of different races? :o). Maybe the Stalker left the Sentinels and went crazy after the rebellion to hunt down the Tenno who were the High Guardians of the Orokin. Tenno even guarded the Orokin Emperor. You can see that most of the Sentinels use the same pseudo-organic flowing material that the Warframes use. As Brimir said most likely an offshoot of the Orokin drone technology. Given what seems to be suggested by the Rhino Prime codex entry, these are constructed technocyte forms (The Infestation may be the same thing but unregulated or the Infestation may be a specific engineered strain of a more general template that the Orokin Empire used) wrapped around and interfaced with normal Orokin hard-tech.
