Tips For Someone Brand New To The Warframe Game?

Question

Basically it would help if you could answer a few questions for my friend who's new to Warframe. Best starting tips and advice, best weapon for a starter, best build for a starter, what to do and what not to do, where to farm for what part, how to recruit for a squad, basic lingo, all that stuff :) I would do it myself but I'm terrible at explaining things, and I tend to make it sound boring... HELP ME OUT PEOPLE! :))

Don't go for the most powerful gear immediately. Find something you like and work up through the increasingly powerful alternatives.

Find a helpful clan to give you advice when you get stuck.

Press Z once. Never press it again.

Keep at least one of each mod at all times, and early on at least, focus on getting Serration and Redirection up to at least rank 4.

From another newbie looking for help thread;

Do not spend plat on; resources, speeding up your Foundry or revives.  It's best spent on slots for Warframes and weapons, sometimes cosmetics.  You can trade in game items with other players and make a lot of in game funds that way.  If you're interested in trading, here's the wiki link; http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Trade_System

If you run into a troll player, screen shot their antics/conversation and submit a support ticket, if you feel it's needed.  Here's the link to the support desk; https://www.warframe.com/login?destination=zendesk  Keep in mind that they handle a lot of tickets and it may take awhile for them to respond.

Modding is important, it makes or breaks a Warframe or weapon.  If you want to test out a build before committing to it, here's a link to Warframe Builder; http://warframe-builder.com/

Right now, stay away from Kubrows. http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Kubrow  They are a credit sink nightmare for a new player.  As far as Sentinels, my personal preference is the Carrier.  He makes resource gathering 100 times easier.  Although, the Shade is pretty handy when it comes to solo'ing some nodes.  Here's a link to their wiki page; http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Sentinels

Stalker, G3 and Zanuka; they're fun and a pain at the same time.  Lots of advice on how to deal with them but, I'd suggest not worrying about beating them until you're MR8 or something.  Links to their respective wiki's in the spoiler tab.

Mastery Rank tests, I would suggest looking online at the player made videos so you know what to expect.  Here's a link to the wiki with all the videos; http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Mastery_Rank

EDIT:

Almost forgot!  Hit YouTube and look for profile videos on any Warframe you might want.  Keywords; Warframe Profile Mag/Mesa/Banshee/Ember/Volt/Rhino, etc.

Only use platinum for slots, cosmetics, and maybe potatoes if you're impatient.

Use the recruit tab often, join t1 and t2 missions as they're offered, it'll be your best source of forma blue prints.

Best sure to level weapon elements first (fire, shock, poison, and cold); in Warframe a good offense is your best defense.

Don't take the easy street by making a b-line for Rhino Prime, Boltor Prime, and Marelok...you'll get bored quickly.
