How Many People Have Actually Tried Maglev?

Maglev is frequently referred to as one of the most useless mods in the game. The vast majority of players find that it is worthless.

Rush, on the other hand, is used by nearly everyone. It is classified as a good mod and is found to be extremely useful.

 

The reality is that Maglev is a better mod. It gives more of a speed boost, it completely removes any use for the stamina mods, and it makes front-flips crazy. If, for example, you put Rush on Frost you are still much slower than a Loki, but if you put on Maglev you will leave him in your dust.

 

This brings me back to my question, how many people actually try Maglev before relegating it to the rubbish bin?

i prefer Maglev, but don't use either. can't really see how anything but Power based mods are useful at all, except for MR tests.

It's not worth the mod slot sacrifice in MOST cases. 

 

On my Rhino and Loki, I do a Sprint Boost, Maglev, Rush and Marathon build for them when doing a quick boss mission. Whether it being boss farming, deception etc. NEVER for anything else that requires me to stay put or on a mission for very long. (over 5 minutes)

Generally I either have no room for it, or enough room to pair it with Rush, for a speedrunning build. As with any utility mod, equipping it means a decrease in the effectiveness of your abilities, which generally makes it not worth it.

For those of us who used to play when sliding would *always* give a speed boost, before the ~2 second internal cooldown was added, it brings back memories of the good ol' days.

 

Coptering is generally more helpful, but I gotta admit - I love maglev, and I have it in my "dojo/relay/liset" build ;)

 

but seriously it is a fun mod to play with, I wish it just worked that way all the time.

I use maglev all the time, if you use it with the secret maglev intruder combo it is just insane.

Heh, interesting. Since the day Maglev was actually avalible in the game, I always thought that Rush was the mod that was considered useless when comparing the two. I am quite surprised to see that it is not the case.

Same here. When I first started playing around U11, I used Magoev and my friends told me to just use Rush instead. Tried Rush and then realized that Maglev allowed me to exploit WF's stamina + sliding relationship at the time, so I went back to Maglev for Rush missions. It's still a nifty mod these days, even after the buttsliding changes (and especially when you're using a bad copter melee).

Who uses mods like maglev or rush unless they're going for speed run load outs? So many kids, so little room for useful mods. That said I used those on my zephyr when doing obstacle courses in the dojo

I honestly think Rush as well as maglev are completely useless, I've used both and i would rather use something that is needed like efficiency, strength, duration, or even something defensive, I don't care what frame you have with rush I'm usually always ahead of everyone anyway.

Always use Maglev on Loki when trying to go fast. It's how you get the best non-cheat scores in the Dojo Obstacle Course. Always has been, always will be.

It helps, but only when buttsliding.

 

With a good copter weapon, the minimal distance is almost obsolete and pointless.

 

I run it on my loki just cuz i have the space for both rush and maglev. I notice a slight difference when running w/o tho. Great for max speed, but it's kinda meh for regular stuff and takes up a spot.

im equipping maglev sometimes... yea... its fun actually to do endless frontflip like madman from edge to edge

 

zephyr turbulence jet stream + sprint boost + rush + maglev,,, 

 

 

or just copter. its faster.

this isn't a mod used for frames that struggle to keep their viable setups. it's obviously for frames like loki or other non-power rangers /str users. they have a slot that could use up maglev or rush. 

 

so maglev doesn't affect coptering (jump + crouch+attack)? only slide and spin attacks on ground?

 

 

nah you cant cahnge directions during slide so no

you can change directions during spin attacks when you release the crouch key. toggling crouch shouldn't be used for spin attackers.

You can perma-flip without rush, so I'd rather not waste the mod slot.
