I Got Thrown A Very Difficult Task The Other Day... (Off Topic)

So, while chatting with a few friends, one of them challenged me:

You know how statistics and probability is very dry, dull and boring, right? Well, I challenge you, since I know you like to make mathematics more digestible for other people, to make statistics and probability concepts be taught in an interesting and unique way.

And I was stumped. Why? Because it is very difficult to find something that would both engage other people, as well as teaching them statistics and probability. At least all the other aspects of mathematics can be used in less mainstream ways, but statistics and probability? Just a tough nut to crack.

But anyways, still thinking about that.

Gaming. Teach how to apply statistics to gaming.

Also, gambling, and financial affairs.

Almost everyone has done that, and other people still feel put off by them.

And gambling is just about the standard application for statistics and probability. So no.

The most fun and profitable type of mathematics is the one you're having trouble with? o.0

You do realise I specialise in logic/proofs/functions instead of statistics/probability, right?

And yes, to just about every person in the world, S&P is very, very boring.

Well, to be honest i got into a course in statistics last year. What i meant by gambling is not to tell people that statistics is basically a mathematical derivative of gambling itself, but to shot people exactly how statistics in gambling works. Like, playing a texas hold 'em game and calculating the chances of the various possible combinations etc.

In Italy where i come from that's usually not done - the gambling reference stops at "statistics has its roots in gambling". Duh.
