No need to be so hostile. And yes, Activision is part to blame as a publisher, as publishers also handle release, what gets released, when, and some other decisions regarding things not main or core to the game itself. Bungie was great when they were with Microsoft and handled Halo. They move to Activision because Microsoft wants them to continue Halo when they don't want to. Suddenly, their quality in game design has decreased, they've become less and less in touch with community... It's either coincidence, or it's not. Take it as you will.

This publisher they've taken under is the handler of CoD, the copy and paste terrible game series that has declined after 5 in quality and yet still gets copy and pasted into new titles because it sells, mind you.

This implies that Activision is bad and only publish bad things. Even CoD fills a niche, and despite the rabid ravings of hardcore basement-dwelling wagonjumpers, it can actually be fun, and some new installments do change things.

Bungie no longer has any of the good writers and designers that it had when it made Halo. It's the same company by name only.

CoD's always been boring for me. I know because I'm surrounded by people who only play those games, and even they've begun to move away from CoD. The game series is terrible. But that's my opinion.

And, yeah, I guess that's true. I hadn't considered, layoffs and all that.

It doesn't interest me either, but I know enough to realize that each new release is rarely the same game with a new skin.

I wish all developers could be more like Indie Game developers, like DE. We get speedy weekly updates with tons of bug fixes, changes, and even nice little Tenno Reinforcement additions, not to mention their haste when there's something that is gamebreaking and needs patching which they can get out almost within the day even. They listen to their community for the most part and don't go too out of touch like some AAA companies... (Ubisoft. Yes. You.)

I miss the old days of gaming when it was simple. No DLC, no microtransactions, no purchases... Just... Fun... You play the game, you enjoy it, the developers actually put something /into/ making it... Everyone would be happy. Now? Eh... There's an increasing amount of lackluster games being shoved out for seemingly the purpose of just garnering money, and on top of that, DLC and micro purchases up the bum..

The game industry is massive now. Yes, there's more crap, but the idea that gaming as it was no longer exists is ridiculous at best.

And even Ubisoft isn't all bad. They've done some really solid numbers. Plus, the thing with really big companies is the bigger you are and the wider your audience, the harder it is to keep in touch with everyone.

Ubisoft? You realize that the Pc version of Assassin's Creed Unity was so horribly bugged that literally half the community on Pc couldn't play it for months, right?

And it doesn't. Tell me you can find a game that was as great and imaginative as Spyro, or Crash Bandicoot, Banjo and Kazooie, Ratchet and Clank. Psychonauts. Grabbed by the Ghoulies. There were wonderful games made back then that still hold value today, and none of them even used ways to garner your cash. DLC wasn't even really a thought back then. It was all just made for you to enjoy. Now we get games like Titanfall, (which, while fun, definitely was lacking.) Watch Dogs, CoD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, which have all had their fair share of problems, (and money-grabs) lately, and honestly seem like no real thought or effort gets put into them anymore.

Nintendo still /kind/ of tries to stick to how the Golden Age of gaming went by, but, the Wii, eh... Gamecube was when they had great games. They still do, don't get me wrong, but Gamecube started that path for some. Gameboy and the DS are great too. I'll still play Metroid Fusion, or the Prime Trilogy on my wii, anyway, or all the Zelda games I still have.

Arkham Knight says hi.

Mortal Kombat says hi.

Black Flag, Far Cry, I Am Alive, Anno, Ghost Recon etc. all say hi from the bench of fun and successful games.

Also super buggy on release =/= bad game. Super buggy on release = rushed game.

Ubisoft's problem is that they take too many steps too fast, but people such as yourself act as if the problem is that they take steps at all. I could judge a spoon harshly because it can be used to kill people and it would be roughly as accurate as the "everything [insert dev/publisher here] does is bad" mindset.

Black Flag... I loved Brotherhood, the first and second AC games, but Black Flag bores me to tears... And the Multiplayer feels so lackluster...

Mortal Kombat doesn't really interest me so I won't comment.

The Arkham series is fantastic, and I have yet to play Knight, NO SPOILERS.

Far Cry... Won't deny it seems good, but it's not really on my radar so I just won't comment on it. I Am Alive is fun. No clue what Anno is... Ghost Recon is great, and are slightly on par with the classics to me.

I never said ALL the games we get today are crap. I just said the quality is dwindling. HELL, I already preordered Dishonored for the One to play it again since that was the most fun I've had in ages with a game.

Preordered Fallout 4 too because it looks like it's improved significantly since 3 and NV.

( - Outside Xbox talking about combat changes and showing off some cool features of Fallout 4. Good insight, check it out!)

Also, if a company takes months to patch a game that half its community can't even play, there's something wrong there.

Edit; Ah, youtube link didn't actually go into the post. Weird. Just look it up on Youtube "9 Combat changes to Fallout 4"

Yeah I've seen it.

I'm not gonna buy into until I feel that the gunplay has been improved.

Look up the video I recommended, they actually DID change the way your weapons work. Iron sights are an entire thing now, Vats now only slows down time so you have to actually react and think fast when you get into it. You can make your own guns to your liking. Grenades are no longer stupidly confusing to use via equipping like a gun as there is a hotkey seemingly. They've improved handling of weapons in general to focus on making it shooter oriented than Fallout 3 and NV's RPG style combat. Just- Trust me and watch the video, please. Things have changed quite a bit. XD

You cannot judge the feel of the gunplay from a video. You need to feel it. I'm not talking about VATs, Grenades or whatever. I'm talking about using your everyday gun in a regular firefight.

You need to feel it, you need to experience it.

It's a video game. It's the same thing across the board, you pick up a controller and move a stick or two while clicking two triggers. There's nothing really to feel past a piece of plastic. :D

Kidding. Ah well. Difference of opinion. I'm JUMPING on getting Fallout 4. I love the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games Bethesda releases. You can only imagine the fangirl squealing I was doing when I saw how the game itself looked for Fallout, let alone heard of its confirmed making.

And for the record, I know what you mean about the gunplay. Fallout isn't too bad anyway. NV was far better than 3 with Iron Sights, but I stick to a Sniper both games normally anyway.

No, that's not true at all.

Go play Destiny and then go play New Vegas.

Compare the way the guns feel and play out.

One is smooth and enjoyable.

The other is stiff as a board and boring.

Re-read my post, I edited it.

(I can never get out a single thought without having to think of MORE to say after the fact..)

I'll throw my 2 cents in....

Personally I couldn't give two S#&$s about these two games, Destiny is a bland and boring shooter going by-the-numbers. Characters are completely forgettable, the only one you actually remember is the Cryptarc but that's only because of his bullS#&$ with engrames. It end with the dumbest boss/horde mode battle ever.

Most story arcs are simply there to set up DLC and even then the DLC aren't even worth what they are priced, the only redeeming factor is the gameplay, and I am sorry, but if your story suck why the F*** am I even playing? I play for a good story not for the gameplay. Good gmaeplay is to be expected not praised for.

Now for Star Wars Battlefield, it's not even worthy of the battlefront name, let's see what has pissed me off the most, one there is no clone wars era only imperial, no conquest, "CO-OP" looks nothing more than two person horde mode, no bots (WTF), galacitc conquest removed, and no space battles.

And for those idiots saying that space battles sucked, the @(*()$ sequal is supposed to IMPROVE features in previous games, removing them entirely is completely @(*()$ lazy!

Let's see what modes we do have AT-AT "Escort" well than all the rebles have to do is bum-rush the walker with everything they have, and no one enjoys an escort mission. Team death match BORING, Fighter vs fighter (YOU #@*&$@S CAN'T DO GOOD FLIGHT CONTROLS!!), and why are AT-STs are @(*()$ weak now? One rocket and they are dead! And the amount of maps is a @(*()$ disgrace!

And the cherry on this big steaming pile of S#&$, no premade classes? How the F*** is everything going balanced?

And you just know the Clone wars era is going to be released as overpriced DLC and to make up for the low number of maps, you guessed it, $15-20 map packs, F*** you EA!

And to those to say, It's the publisher not the developer, well here's evidence that says otherwise, Bioware is under EAs control and even with their bullS#&$ they are still able to realease 4 times the amount of content in one game than DICE has in 3. And don't lie ever shooters game play is pretty much the same, just with a few tweaks
