RagingGrizzly
I was doing some random missions because I was bored, and I started noticing these purple damage numbers. Can someone tell me what they do? They're most likely a bug tho, like when red crits was a bug way back when. lBryanFury
This happened to me too a lot of times today... i think they are the 3th crit. stage Yellow>Red>Purple Can it be?
MrAwkwardGeek
i'm fairly sure that's just an off seeming red crit, although I could be wrong. Do you have any clearer screenshots?
(XBOX)JasonsNightmare
Red crit with EB? Not with the Nikana. You have something else going on, here. Not to mention that, if it was a third tier of crit, like IBryanFury sais, it would definitely be way over 3,000 damage. And, given the crit mechanic, all of the other hits would be red crits, as well. Edited August 24, 2015 by (XB1)JasonsNightmare
Kasumi-
i'm fairly sure that's just an off seeming red crit, although I could be wrong. Do you have any clearer screenshots? I've had this happen with non-red crit weapons, so that's probably not possible.
EmptyDevil
I've seen these purple numbers too. It happened when i was using Shield Polarize on Corpus units and during other instances VS shielded enemies.
MechaGent
Maybe purple nums are shield crits? That'd be nice, if so.

TheStag
There is an older thread about this somewhere. The theory is that this is some type of damage dealt to shields so far, but no absolute conclusion has been reached.

SharkPot
It is basically overshield damage on enemies mainly if they are linked with shield ospreys, and if there is lag the shield crits turn purple as well.

RNDM9999
it cant be anything to do with shields bc i have seen them in grineer missions also unlikely to be crits either bc it happens on low crit weapons such as glaive prime (5%)

Perhaps that there's a small glitch that gives shielded enemies overshields, cuz that's the only explaination
Fari
Seems like it's overshield damage to me, had it happen a ton this week but only to shielded enemies, and I think usually an osprey was around. It'd be kinda weird if it's anything else, since shield damage is shield color, and your shields become purple with overshields.
srlhama
You are hiting enemies with overshield.
