I made a post where I suggested we would have a Kubrow/Kavat park. In the park there will be a shop where you can buy accessories and food. Interacting with your companion in the park will increase loyalty. I'm not sure what else we can do in the park other than having minigames where we use our kavats or kubrows to race and we bet on them lol

I've read that thread. It's a cute little idea, but I could see that park being more in Dojos than Relays, unless it loads separately. Knowing all the people that go to the Relays... it's gonna be awfully laggy with all those Kubrows and Kavats hanging around.

Presentation done. It went surprisingly well; all the practice paid off, and now I've ended up with securing my certificate of completion... and more knowledge about identity theft than a teenager should know. Perhaps I might put that knowledge to use in a future, unrelated quest.

Now, onto current things. There is none.

HOWEVER, I do have plans for future updates, in light of the recent update and the addition of Octavia in our arsenals. Admittedly, as much as I've expressed dislike for the Warframe, I bought her anyway.

A couple things I've taken note of from the update [wip because I'm lazy and I know Chrome's gonna break on me]:

  • The lore introduced about Cephalon Suda in Octavia's Anthem could very well tie her in with Lares, and could have potential to tie in the bands with certain Syndicates (Initially, Nevdrus was meant to be aligned with The Perrin Sequence, Harktor was aligned with The Steel Meridian, and Lares was with the Arbiters of Hexis before I decided on what they would become). Even if I decide to scrap this idea, this could also help with writing lore for Lares, as well as quests.
  • The Mandachord. While the possibilities are endless with a tool like this, the actual number of instruments are very limited. As expected with something newly released, it should be to no surprise and there will likely be more released in the future.
    • I did, despite being overall disappointed by it, laughed at the cheesiness of the Druk instrument set.
  • The Captura mode is very fun to use! I've enjoyed it.

So, a couple ideas:

  • The Radio Segment, when upgraded, can play any music that players create using your Mandichord. The Radio Segment can either play the songs on their own, or with the price of Platinum it can take up to five of the songs that players has created and create an Album, allowing players to share more than one song at once. In other words, you can share your "lit" mixtape with your friends.
  • A tutorial quest introducing the Tenno Relays. The quest will give the player the Relay Captura scene, allowing them free access to an empty Tenno Relay.
    • In addition, every single shop, including Darvo's and the Virtuous Star, will sell their own Captura scene. They can be bought when a player has achieved Rank 3 with a certain shop, or if certain quests are completed.
  • A Captura Shop. This shop would sell scenes for the player to use in Captura mode, as well as additional settings for the player to use.
  • A new Corpus band. As a stark contrast to Nevdrus being a jazz band, this new band would be more focused on being an EDM type of group (I'm leaning towards electro-pop). In addition, there could be a quest involving the band's cultural clashes with Nevdrus (Keeping in mind, Nevdrus is a jazz band). For now, this band will be referred to as Triox, as I'm considering making them a trio.
  • Each band will have their own set of Instruments to sell for the player whenever they visit the Tenno Relays. Each band would have three sets of instruments (I'll have this updated later with more/better examples, since some may be too similar):
    • Nevdrus would have the Laxo, Itas, and Vito Corpus instrument sets. An additional Corpus set, Avos, would be distributed with the final quest for Nevdrus.
    • Triox would have the Icta, Aeso, and Dextus Corpus instrument sets. An additional Corpus set, Xolus, would be distributed with the final quest for Triox.
    • Harktor would have the Bor, Grux, and Kra Grineer instrument sets. An additional Grineer set, Regor, would be distributed with the final quest for Harktor.
      • Bor be a bit heavier than the Druk set, leaning towards the sound of what most hard rock bands have (Volbeat's The Devil's Bleeding Crown).
      • Kra would be a bit heavier, but more driven and "power metal" esque, with an emphasis on staccato notes (Sabaton's No Bullets Fly).
      • Grux would be the heaviest and lowest of the three (Raubtier's Panzarmarsch).
    • Lares would have the Alura, Sono, and Chora Tenno instrument sets. An additional Tenno set, Oras, would be distributed with the final quest for Lares.
  • NPCs will react to player emotes, and if in proximity with a player, will give them a handshake.

Admittedly, as ironic as it is, even if I'm a bit of a band nerd I don't really listen to music all that much anymore, RIP.

As the end of March nears, as does v5.0 of the Virtuous Star. I have two major plans in particular, one that I've set into motion about an hour ago, the other I'll have completed as soon as I've posted this.

  • Version 6.0: While I had planned upon this update being in late May when I would actually be out of school, the sheer size of the document was getting a bit too much to handle, especially with the future plans I've mentioned above as well as the plans I will be sharing shortly. In light of this, I've chosen to rework the concept thread entirely, both in formatting and in content. The main post itself will only have a summary of the additions added by the concept, while more information on each portion of the concept can be found through Google Documents.
    • Their are six documents total:
      • A General Document, containing the technical and descriptive information of the concept.
      • A Weapons & Warframes Document, containing statistical and descriptive information on the weapons and Warframes that are distributed via the new and revised portions of the Tenno Relays.
      • A Lore & History Document, describing the lore of each portion of the thread, including characters, settings, and events in the past.
      • An Art Document, which provides artwork of all the additions the concept suggests.
      • Quests Document, which has a list of all the quests introduced in the concept. They are divided into three "questlines": The Relay, The Syndicates, and The Star. These are subject to change.
  • Reddit Thread v3: Although I'm an infrequent visitor of the Warframe Subreddit (never particularly been too fond of the aura of it, personally), that does not mean I do not post on there whatsoever. I have posted about this concept on Reddit twice now, the threads themselves can be seen as links in the very first post. As of this post, a third post has been created for the Virtuous Star.

In addition, a couple more ideas that I've thrown around with Unus and some of the other Discord servers I'm in:

  • Triox, the Corpus Electro-Pop band, has been expanded more. It is headed by Cera Luxor, the peppy and snobbish daughter of the CEO of Luxor Forge, who has sought the Tenno Relays to get some extra credits under her father's nose. This, however, does not go so well...
  • More Syndicate Quests: I've decided that, in combination with the current quests, I would attempt to cover the rest of the Syndicates for their quests. For Version 6, they will be part of The Syndicates questline. Quests for The Red Veil, The Steel Meridian, and the Arbiters of Hexis will be provided through here. Additionally, an introductory quest to Syndicates will be written.
  • A Relay Gardens/Park. This area would be a pretty little place for players to hang out in, provided by New Loka for everyone's usage. It is also used for various events to occur:
    • Mandachord Area: There are various portions of the Relay Gardens where a player with an Octavia can play their music at.
    • Story Time: On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the children of the Relay can be found sitting around in inside of the Garden Gazebo, with an NPC telling them a story, giving insight on some lore or even references to past events. These can include Syndicate Leaders, Teshin, or even Clem, who will use Noggles as puppets instead of actually speaking. The player can sit down with them and listen, or they themselves can tell them a story that depending on the player's choice to go about the story will affect a player's Morality (this thing). For instance, a player may muse to them with a heroic story of saving the Mycona Colony, or frighten them with a scary one of the powers of Nidus. The choices the player makes in other quests will affect who comes to Story Time.
    • NPC Interactions: If a player does not have a quest activated, some NPCs may take a break from their usual routine to visit the Relay Gardens. They can be talked with and interacted with just like they would in the Virtuous Star.
    • Relay Requests: Some Relay Requests may involve finding objects in the Relay Gardens.
    • Quests: Some Quests may take the player to the Relay Gardens.

I also have plans for a new (and adorable) merchant, but that's to come in the very, very far-off future when the concept is more developed.

Always good to do a bit of Spring cleaning and see if some of the old works can be prodded for new ideas. Many a time have I perused me old Pit only to have one of my old works rear up and gobsmack me with something new and tasty. I will admit though, I'll really have to watch you carefully and see how you do it, I have a funny feeling that my Moshpit just might be reaching a point where opening it to the front page causes a "Raiders of the Lost Ark Moment" to happen.

Also, ooooo, is the adorable one that one thing we talked about in that one place at that one time yesterday?

Well, it IS spring, after all, I think it'd do everyone some good. I imagine it'd take both you and I quite a lot of time to sift through our own threads, but I think the both of us could do it.

And yes, it was the one thing we were talking about yesterday. That thing. Shh.

Reporting in the responses from Reddit. A lot of them were mostly negative, a bit of a contrast to the past posts, but more just opinions than actual advice (Most even appeared as if they didn't bother reading the entire thread!), one particular one giving me quite the chuckle simply over how uppity and 'superior' they were trying to act, telling me that all the suggestions are just a waste of resources. I'm not surprised; many people on Reddit are like this. Suppose that's what I get for posting it on there expecting for actual advice.

It's one thing to point out flaws and try to help, but it's another to just tell me to scrap everything because it's 'unreasonable'.

Regardless, my general motive with Reddit is to disregard the tactless opinions and focus on the more valuable criticisms that help with the development of the concept. There was one piece of advice that involved mod balancing that I enjoyed reading; what with my bad grasp at making mods, it does help quite a lot (I'll quote the comment once I'm home).

And... that's about it.

I hope to try and find someone to go through and give opinions on each portion of the concept, but I also believe I won't be referring to Reddit in the future. I don't expect to have everyone head over heels in love with the concept, but I won't take downright rude comments with little respect towards me, either. Some of the comments I've received were insulting towards me at best, and nobody deserves to be given that attitude. It's shameful, really.

I really like some of the ideas here. Not too fun of shops, restaurants, or banks, but I think the casino sounds fun, the NPC quests also, and the Archwing races is a must.

However, I would like to introduce another feature: "the assassin's bar" (name wip)

You would go there to find other players to do Trials with. A bit like Maroo, you would put up your hand saying what quest you want to do and could see players loadout, MR and how many times they did each Trial (and vice-versa). From there you could assemble a team and then launch into chosen Trial.

So it'd be a physical manifestation of the Recruiting chat, like how Maroo's Bazaar is of Trade chat?

I personally would be for it, I love myself more immersion. I imagine others may see it as unnecessary, since we already have recruiting chat.

One idea could be taken from an earlier rendition of the Star. While you could recruit players, there could also be random "jobs" you could take from patrons that are similar to alerts while you're there.

Some could also see this be a part of Maroo's Bazaar more than the Relays; posting items to sell while running raids and missions in the meantime. Since admittedly I have been working on some expansions for Maroo's Bazaar in light of my Relay reworks, it could definitely make an interesting part of it.

I think I may start doing lore posts inbetween updates. I've done one on Tumblr about Faus's involvement prior to AFFD. It mainly has background information on Operation Galerucella, the mission Faus was meant to undertake, and how she is during the aftermath of The Avos Venture.

If I do, should I throw in some art as well?

Part ""publicity stunt"", part juicy Simarian-esque story thirst quencher. Adding art will only make it even more irresistible for those already hungry for more from your work, so I say ship it on out madem! Raise awareness AND fill in the blanks.

What I'm curious to know is whether or not to post them in the art thread or on this main thread. I'd be fine with either/or.

Writing lore to close up gaps is one of my guilty pleasures, so this would likely be a frequent thing.

Personal habit states that, because of the high traffic of this sector and my need to "lump" things togethor, that this'd be the best place to flash your hand of lore cards with artistry. However, it's truely up to you.

Also, I agree, just recently, my attempt at writeing a simple manufacturing blurb for my Dax rifle turned into an entire saga about the lives of the Dax stranded beyond Neptune during the Sentient War. It's addicting, to say the least.

Thank you for all of your support.

However, the Virtuous Star has no place in Warframe. As near and dear as the concept may have been to me, it's just a waste of everyone's time, just as I am.

Goodbye, Warframe. It's been a fun couple of years.APRIL FOOLS NERDS

This was a surprise.

I don't agree that you or your concept is a waste of time. You succeeded in catching the attention of Fan Concept of the Week during Prime Time, and you've a number of avid followers. (I haven't been able to provide useful feedback to you because I've been otherwise preoccupied.)

Mari, I'm not sure what happened, or why you're leaving, but send me a PM if you want to talk about it. I don't know if if it's something that happened here, or in real life (you spoke a bit about what happened to discourage you the last time concerning your real life).

The Warframe community will be without some wonderful fan concepts, and involved feedback. I don't believe in trying to change people's minds if they're made up, but I would like to understand. I can't say that I do, but I can respect your decision.

Your kind words are always welcome here, Rhekemi. It brightens my day whenever I see you post, especially on my own threads.

On the other hand, I'd suggest that you take note of today's date, and the hidden addendum bit at the end of the post.

Quote

APRIL FOOLS NERDS

It's April Fool's day. I have my place here, and even if it's minor, I still have to play it. I don't see myself actually leaving the community for a few years.

Granted, knowing my own self-depreciating tendencies, it was in rather poor taste and could easily be taken as something serious while taking advantage over the fact that it was April Fool's day. Deeply sorry about that.

That mess aside, I do have rather major plans for the Virtuous Star what with Version 6 coming soon. It's likely that, to save time and space, I will be separating the Relay Overhaul from the Virtuous Star (The bar, I mean) itself. Sure, they'll have pieces and parts that will reference one another, but in general, they will be two separate concepts.

More importantly, with that, The Virtuous Star is getting a name change. The new Relay overhaul will be referred to as "The Virtuous Stars". The previous Virtuous Star itself will be The Noxus, to keep it in-line with Corpus naming conventions, as well as being a humorous jab at Luxor by Zeribus Ved, as Lux means "day" in Latin whereas Nox means "night" in Latin, and a pun on Nexus, which the bar itself is to a small degree. Granted, I'm just using a Latin dictionary more than anything and slapping things together. Not really too sure if I'm going to be splitting the Relay overhaul off of this thread, or if I'll be splitting the Virtuous Star out, but it'll come to me eventually.

Alternatively, I could keep The Virtuous Star as The Virtuous Star, and give the Relay overhaul a different name.

Again, I'm sorry about the confusion. For now, here is a little sketch I did for fun, based on the idea I mentioned a little bit above. I'd post it in the actual art thread, but... nah.

Ah, lol. I should have seen that coming, but didn't.

A little embarrassed, but on the bright side, you're not leaving and are okay.

I'm not against April Fool's jokes (I'm not one of the people who gets really mad about pranks/stays home/away from people), and have made at least one really bad joke in the past. No worries!
