Cerata Build

Question

Hey everyone,

I wanted to show you my build for the Cerata. This weapon is one of the hardest to mod, I never had so many problems in modding a weapon, so I'd like to hear your feedback.

The build is a hybrid build, with some corrosive damage to strip the armor away from the enemies. The first and last four mods are no brainers, Voltaic strike and Virulent Scourge are here to raise the proc chance and Fever strike is for some base damage. I didn't add True Steel since once Berserk procs I feel I can keep it up quite easily but if I was to add it, I'd switch Fever strike for it.
I didn't add Life strike since I'll be playing the Cerata with Nezha, which has some kind of survivability on his own. So, what do you think? I need some serious help with this weapon.

status isn't great on the Cerata, i fouma'd two dash polarities for 90% elementals giving you 60% more elemental damage than your current build

Also the two dash polarities allow for you to do a thrown attack specific build as well

Spoiler

note:I'm on xbox so i currently don't have body count or bloodrush but i would basically do what you're doing.

After DE nerfed all throwing melee charge attacks in U18, they've been mediocre at best. Their charge attack gameplay has been removed so they're now mediocre melee weapons (they all have bad base damage).

For a melee build, I'd swap an elemental mod for Fury, because it's multiplicative to Berserker.

*status chance*

elemental is applied to every shot, so he's still getting a really good amount of damage out of it.  might want to read up on your elemental vs status chance http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Status_Effect

??? Did you read the post you quoted?

Cerata has bad status chance so no point using +status mods, better to use pure elemental mods.

Find it somewhere there:

Trinity Prime > Trinity Bless > Cerata

I'm sorry, I should've mentioned that I'd like some help with a melee build, focused on getting on melee range and using the thrown attack only marginally.

I've also should've mentioned that Fury won't be included in the melee build because I don't like my character to be a flashy blender whose combo can't be controlled. I'm up to sacrificing some dps by leaving Fury out.

I'll try to use pure elemental mods, thanks for the suggestion. I'll notify you about how it goes.

with two dual stats and a base status chance of 15% he has 33% status chance per hit i think his build might benefit more from the 90% damage elementals, but to each his own. I personally don't mod for status on a crit melee build.

This weapon is even more deadly than what is was implemented previously to update 18. With Blood Rush, Body Count, and True Steel you can reach to Red Crit very quickly. Also add Whirlwind, Fury, and Punch Through to this build for really high damage and instant kill throws. P.s. This weapon is highly dependent on each Warframe in game. Mainly for tanks/cc specialists. Have fun! :)

Except that the combo counter has no effect on thrown melee damage.

Thrown melee damage in unspectacular unless you're getting the stealth melee x4 multiplier.

I would say use fury first of all.  It will help you not get stuck in long combos.  Also, use the base toxin damage to your advantage and use a shocking touch to make corrosive.

If you want a throwing melee, use whirlwind and rebound.  If you want a really fun melee, more elemental is okay, but I would say stay away from 60/60 mods on this weapon.  The status is not really worth modding for.

Keep blood rush, pressure point, beserker, and body count.

My personal build is:

Pressure point, fury, beserker, blood rush, body count, shocking touch, life strike, organ shatter.
