Upgrading Certain Mods Question

Hello Tennos,

I'm a new Warframe player, just started Saturday or Sunday actually. I was wondering about Sentinel mods and the like. They can rank up, but what does it do? I don't see any stat increase except the drain. So what is the purpose of leveling these mods?

Most often increasing the rank of a sentinel mod affects range of effect.

the sentinel mods could really use a better tool tip. checking the mods on the wiki is probably something you should get used to to get the numbers.

The main ones that are like that generally just increase the range.

Some others like Regen bring your Sentinel back upon its death with higher health percentages when it's ranked up, or Sanctuary increases the amount of damage the projected shield can protect you from while reviving an ally.
