The Orbiter's Foundry, And Civilian Goods

Pretty basic question really. What are the exact limits of our Foundry's capabilities?

Mostly what we use our Foundry for is producing weapons, ammunition, Warframe parts, and specialised military equipment. However, we can get blueprints for stuff like an Ascaris negator from Darvo and construct that. Couple of useful bits of information there:

- Ascaris negators are a piece of machinery which likely did not exist during the time of the Orbiter's initial construction. In other words, the Foundry can accept new designs, assuming the blueprints are written in a format which it can read. See also Fomorian Disruptors. In fact, see also all Grineer weaponry and Corpus energy weapons.

- "Typical Corpus. The blueprint is free, but they jack up the material costs!"  - Ordis.
So, the Corpus are known for providing blueprints, are they? What other blueprints are they known for sourcing?

- The Foundry can produce really big projects. The Orbiter is capable of manufacturing new landing craft.

So, what other cool stuff do we think the Foundry could produce? Could we get the blueprints for stuff like power generators and water filters? If we had the blueprints for tons and tons of infrastructural machinery, could we park our carrier in orbit around Earth and get to work constructing a hidden base on the planet?

Do the Corpus track what blueprints people buy copies of?

The Tenno have been active in the Origin system for a couple of years, and the only blueprints they ever downloaded were for weapons. If, all of a sudden, lots of Tenno began buying nanofactory prints for making things like clothes, grooming tools, jewellery, furniture......would the Corpus smell a rat? Would they smell an Operator?

They would not likely because A. your forgetting that we buy through Darvo (i think) and  B. you have all of the corpus civilians that buy furniture

I do want my own mansion though not on earth as all the plants would break it into pieces.

And they don't know that we have operators

Everyone thinks we are inside the suit when were not.( see Alad v)

That's my point, though. What would the Corpus think if the Tenno, those horrifying monster cyborg ninjas, suddenly ponied up a few thousand credits and downloaded:

- Basic blueprints for 3d printing of toothbrushes, combs, and razors.

- Blueprints for clothes, and software for editing the size and fit of the designs.

Would they suspect that the Tenno have begun taking in refugees?

What use would mercenaries have for cleaning implements, or constructing a base on Earth when they already have the Orbiter, or even a Clan Dojo? If the Tenno started taking in refugees that more than likely would put them in more danger than they were before, best place to take them would be the Steel Meridian. That said, I'm sure the Operator's pod keeps it comfortable, all necessities taken care of.

Well, seeing how massive the Orbiter is. You can compare the Liset to the Orbiter by looking at the nose. I would expect the Foundary we use to be the UI computer and the actual building happens somewhere else on the ship. So Warframes could have their own chambers where they get built and stored. For the Infested weapons, I would expect it to be on heavy locked down so infection dosen't spreads *cough*. Corpus and Grineer probably have something like the clan labs. The landing crafts mostly likely have their own docking stations where they land and get build. And for Archwing you see your somewhere else on the ships.

@Rex13568 I actually do believe we buy them from Darvo. Seeing he often gives us a lot of discounts. This can be seen when he sends us a message to our inbox or when he is advertising it on the Relay.

I think you're looking into this wrong. He's just saying the corpus are typically greedy, I.E. the blueprint is free, but the material costs are high to force you to buy the materials.

Well, yes. That's what that statement means. What I'm interested in is the implication that the Corpus provide lots of blueprints.

Wow, which Devstream was that, and did they ever say if we would ever be able to see the full orbiter someday?

to be fair, we don't know what the lesit does after missions/ being idle. all we know is we're in a ship, we have stuff on the ship, but we don't know if where on the orbitor in genral, so as far as knowing "the orbitor" size, and mass, is not known, but i hope that they show somthing of the orbitor in game soon (not fly by's of it)

as far as i want to build, a random station that has a more homy feel for the operator. or somthing loke that :)...

Do you mean the animation? Because those are essentially just keyframes, definitely not a representation of the finished product.

its close enough, and the fact it is (or was) a thing tells me its a thing that might happen. (its simple so they might at it for kicks)
