Orthos Prime

Question

Here is my current Orthos Prime build for general use and for Valkyr's Warcry (I have slight variations for Hysteria and Exalted Blade since Blood Rush/Body Count does not work with these abilities).

As you can see, I have invested 3 forma into it so far. I am debating whether to change the stance polarity to dash to match the Bleeding Willow pole arm stance or keep Shimmering Blight.

Also, you may notice that I only have one elemental mod equipped (Heat as a place holder, can be swapped out to best suit the faction I am fighting). If I use two elements instead, what mod would be removed? Primed/Pressure Point, Blood Rush/Body Count, and Berserker are practically required so none of those. That means it's basically between Primed/Reach, Organ Shatter, and Life Strike. Primed/Reach makes this already large weapon enormous, those bigger crits from Organ Shatter are really nice, and Life Strike is great for staying alive. It's a tough decision.

one for Berserker, which is infinitesimal up until 2.5x

This is really, really, really stupid assumption. The only elemental mod that provides higher dps increase than Berserker is the very first one. Even base crit chance Orthos Prime can and will sustain fully stacked Berserker all the time.

Going Corrosive + Heat (which is worse than Corrosive + Cold anyway, because no one needs extra damage on trash Infested) will require you to use three elementals total, not four as you are trying to suggest.

You are also missing the fact, that OP's intending to use Naramon, which provides extra 30% critical chance increase.

Having your own math is nice and all, but get it straight first.

Heat was actually for Bombards, not Infested. I forgot Cold worked better for them

I only suggested three. Blood Rush/Organ Shatter/Berserker vs Corrosive/Cold is 3v3

It's been five hours, I guess I did forget that part

Here are the results of a couple solo survival runs from tonight putting the Orthos Prime through it's paces to test the new build. I am happy to say it passed with flying colors.

This is the Valkyr Warcry build I used: http://imgur.com/a/Al1QS

Here is the Orthos Prime Build I decided on. Note I made the decision to drop life strike+heat in favor of corrosive. Since I was using shadow step, I was not taking much damage; when I did need to heal, I used hysteria's innate life steal and then popped back out. http://imgur.com/a/AwNJc

Current state of my Naramon Focus School: http://imgur.com/a/kWyRe

Current state of my Zenurik Focus School: http://imgur.com/a/Zp7ln

Non of the other ways of these school are really worth using in my opinion as having more open paths adds to the cool down.

I believe many people in this thread discounted how Blood Rush resolves because its not reflected from the in game calculator?

OP Slash build: http://goo.gl/iJcyh2
OP Slash/maiming strike build: http://goo.gl/soGFgN
OP 4 elements/maiming strike build + OS: http://goo.gl/KfhdYR
OP 3 elements/maiming strike build + OS/Bloodrush: http://goo.gl/bPDiv1
OP 3 elements/maiming strike build + OS/TS: http://goo.gl/qNAZDN

The 4th build seems to yield the highest damage potential if you enjoy sliding.
In that case I'd consider removing an element for body count to maintain the counter.

If the plan is to use an empowered melee ult Then I think something like the 3rd for more elemental damage would be best. Maybe change out an element for primed fury/berserker/true steel.

But I came more for the point of OP being crit viable and pointing out some numbers
