Steam or no Steam?

I would like to know from players that used both installations of Warframe which way is better?

Does running Warframe on installation without Steam perform better?

Steam just downloads the launcher and adds nothing. So I would say cut out the middleman and just download the launcher from the Warframe website.

The only difference between the two is where they install the files, and that the Steam version has access to the Steam Overlay.

Performance on your PC will be the same regardless from where you run the game.

Steam just gives you access to Warframe Steam trading cards if you buy platinum/Tennogen through it, Steam exclusive skins and all of Steam overlay's functions.

If you're highly restricted on performance, Steam has a very tiny amount of RAM usage and CPU overhead otherwise there's no difference.

I always install straight from the company when possible, I dislike unified launchers as a whole.

I use Pidgin to access steam's chat service along with multiple other messaging services and never open the program. Keeping 6 difference chat services in one program window is quite nice.

Using Steam also gives you the option of Big Picture mode.  This is an nice feature if you want more control in menus when using Controllers.
