So, lets say it fires 5 bullets normally, and the minus multishot makes it shoot 3

It would use 3 ammo instead of 5 with the minus multishot, right?

If a weapon uses a  5 round burst-fire. At base value it shoots 5 bullets for 5 ammo each time you fire.

When you add Split Chamber it fires 1.9 bullets per shot or 9.5 bullets per burst fire and still uses 5 ammo.

If you don't use Split Chamber and go negative multishot, lets say -50%, you will fire 2.5 bullets per burst instead of 5 while still using 5 ammo.

Yes it will fire less bullets.

The gun still uses ammo for the shot but does not fire a bullet if you go negative in total multishot.

Nope, when you get + multishot you dont use more ammo, so it would still use 5 but shoot 3.

Has this been tested? because isn't multishot works additive like other physical damage mods? - physical damage only remove that physical damage, but it won't change the calculated base damage value. So multishot should only affect the multishot value, means negative multi-shot won't affect the base shot.

Everything I've read said it has a chance to fire blanks. About 15 or so players claim this as confirmed.

I've not seen any test info outside this Opticor video.

Spoiler

Status Weapons don't need damage. It's okay to decrease it if the return is more status stuff.

Multi-shot improves your chances for status though. More shots = more chance to procs status, less shots = less chance to procs status.
