The missions are just too fast. Melee are useless in 80% of situations. Combos are unpractical to trigger and too time consuming and not precise to execute. (except if you go against infested) Let's not talk about how slow is the switch of weapons, which on its own is one of the best reasons why the majority don't even bother to change weapon anymore.
