NeoRetro10K
I remember before 18.5, the lighting for the Grineer Galleon tileset in particular was being revamped very slowly. 18.5 brought updates to the lighting in other areas as well, and finished the Grineer Galleon's revamp. With that update also came optimizations that even increased the frame rate regardless of the better graphics. Now, with more recent lighting reworks, particularly that of the Grineer Shipyard tileset on Ceres, it seems like that focus on framerate optimization has lessened. Ceres has always been slow, perhaps because of the big rooms, but instead of fixing the problem like the 18.5 updates did, the changes only made the frame rate on Ceres even more choppy. It's clear that something was done differently this time, and it is to the detriment of lower-end computers. I urge the graphics developers and coders to re-examine the way the newest lighting systems have been optimized, and align more recent changes more closely to the optimization of the changes made to the Grineer Galleon both before and on the release of 18.5. [DE]Linkski
Hi NeoRetro10K, Could you possibly provide an example of a specific room where performance seems to have gotten worse? A screenshot would help quite a bit. If volumetric lighting is causing performance issues for lower end computers then they have the ability to disable it with the Volumetric Lighting setting in Warframe's display menu. However if there is a specific room that we can address then we'd be happy to take a look at it.
(PSN)EpicediumUK
Unsure if it's the same on PC as PS4 but also seeing framerate issues with Ceres and other tiles after recent updates areas in tilesets listed include Ceres - Kiste / Grineer Shipyard, outside areas with open sky / precipiation effects
