UncaIroh
In devstream 100, you guys mentioned that you'd like to remove the artificial cap and help the more casual players keep up with the hardcore grinders... Here's my 2 cents: Frame everything in terms of bonuses, even if you have to adjust the base rate of acquisition.

As it stands, what they are doing is making it so we get more focus at the start and as we get closer to the 250k soft cap, we will go back to normal levels. once we go over that 250k cap, we will get much less...so theoretically a hardcore player could get 500k+ focus in a day, where as casuals would be able to get near the 250k soft cap...if not hit it. (PSN)Croewe
Well if the bonus isn't scaled inside a mission then hardcore gamers could stay inside the first mission they do in a day and farm millions with the bonus they have.

Callback
They did mention a bonus. You start with a bonus (so normal play can actually earn you something) which returns to current levels up to the current cap, then can go beyond the cap with diminishing returns. Xzorn
I don't think it would be fair to undermine the work players have put into the system even further by making the total gains even easier. The boost to start up, removal of the hard cap, Eidolon Lenses in addition to Teralyst should be plenty. The amount of time players spent grinding focus over the past two years was already reduced in value by DE quadrupling the costs of the new system. Yea the costs are pretty high even for a hardcore player who had 12 million in every school and perhaps we'll see the cost reduction though the new capacity pool but It's important to remember that asking to make things easier creates wasted time for those who have pushed through it despite it's design. Of course this type of thing could be avoided if the system was not sitting around unfinished for so long.

Here's hoping they try to build a system that scales in-mission and it bugs out on the first few days. :D

Also encourage playing other missions by offering a timed affinity bonus in nodes other than high level exterminate (timed so they won't abuse it in endless) But really, the point of my advice is that they don't ever post a penalty for diminishing returns. (at max diminished returns your bonus is 0% instead if incurring a penalty of -10% or something) Edited November 8, 2017 by TonyWong
