holyicon
I've read several posts asking for more sound controls, but without any specific suggestions as to how those options should be presented to the player. And I've seen a lot of pull-back from other players saying they don't want other players to have options because they, themselves would not use them. Well, the cool thing about options that they forget is... that are that they are ... what's the word ... Optional.Including a sound option does not ruin anything for players that do not choose to use them. They can only add to the enjoyment of players that do.So with that in mind, these are the options I would like to see implemented at some point. I wouldn't even limit it to this list.____________________________________Mute in Background: Yes / No.Master volume: 0 to 100%.Music scale: 0 to 200%.Music stinger scale: 0 to 200%.UI sound scale: 0 to 200%.Ambient sound scale: 0 to 200%. Elevators Play "Girl from Ipanema": Yes / No. Lotus Frequency: Text Only / Mission Critical / Mission Updates / Full Reminders. Radio/Lotus voice scale: 0 to 200%. Player "Ear" Location: Avatar / Camera.Ability sound scale: 0 to 200%.Weapon sound effect scale: 0 to 200%.Enemy bark / voice scale: 0 to 200%. The Wilhelm Factor: 0 to 10%. (by 0.1 adjustments, enemy humanoids only)Enable VOIP Service: Yes / No.Ally Player VOIP scale: 0 to 200%.Player VOIP Transmit Scale: 0 to 100%.Player VOIP Cutoff: 30db to 60db.[The "Test Mic" button and slider] [Audio Input Device Selector] [Audio Output Device Selector]_____________________________________All of these sound category are in the game already (By virtue of for them to exist there would need to be some form of class or structure to enumerate/hold them in memory and expose them to events), they're just not controlled by interactive settings. Adding these options should be in-line with existing tools. Also, I'm not sure what the Cut-Scene sounds are tied to, so that may need to be noted along with the corresponding setting, or it may warrant its own setting. Xylia
I find Cutscene music to be REALLY FREAKING LOUD compared to therest of the game's music. Turn the music volume down, and I can barely hear in-game music. Leave the in-game music as is, and I get blasted by the Pre-Mission Cutscene "Diorama" or whatever you are calling it. Could we tone that down just a tad?
litlit
+1 Fantastic idea. I suggest also adding an option to mute/unmute Lotus's com blip (the sound that plays before and after she speaks), along with a volume slider.
Shifty_Shuffler
200% ?? You like distorted sound do you? :P
holyicon
200% ?? You like distorted sound do you? :P Well if somebody needs or wants to set it up to 200%, it's there for them to use. I'd suggest leaving it closer to 100% if that's more to your liking. I expect 100% to be the default anyway.
holyicon
I'm bumping this because I'm seeing a lot of individual requests for these features, and it helps to have them all in one place.
[DE]George
We will be introducing a Lotus volume slider in the near future. We will take a look at your other suggestions too.
