Pyradus
Hello. With the inclusion of arcanes and the fact that certain eidolons only drop certain arcanes it would be lovely if we could choose to summon, for example, only the Gantulyst or Hydrolyst right away by sacrificing the appropriate shard during night time at the shrine (instead of having to always kill the Teralyst first). Thanks!
Himenoinu
Given how little lore is poured in the game with the addition of the two new sentients, your is a sensible request. And from a logic perspective, that ain't a shrine, but a triggering device... I mean, you put the remains of a sentient on the shrine to bring up a bigger, meaner one. That's more about revenge than anything else. From a rewards perspective though, I disagree with you. Your request would be similar to asking the devs to give you the option to select which reward rotation you want to do in any endless mission :D
Evanescent
Is OP asking to use shards from inventory to bypass the teralyst fight? Like use brilliant shards you had collected beforehand?
TrinityPrime
Maybe it is the way it is now because future plans will have it where if you'll be able to summon Gantulyst and Hydrolyst at the same time with Teralyst still walking around and then they'll see each other and combine into an even larger and meaner Eidolon. Pyradus
Yes the shards would be ones you collected beforehand. Another use for all of them.
kgabor
How about adding this option after killing x number of the previous tier Eidolon? So you would get to fight a Gantulyst right away and without wasting your night cycle after killing f.ex 20 Teralysts total, you would get to fight a Hydrolist after killing 10 Gantulysts and so on with any new Eidolons added. There would be a sense of progression still and you would still have to work for unlocking but the grind would be a little less tedious.
Nesit1
Teralyst makes speedruns more reliable on gear and teamwork. If you fast enough to kill him and Hydro/Gantu multiple times - then you deserve this reward. Skipping Tera basically means reducing difficulty of hunt itself, and makes rare arcanes less valuable. (PSN)CrimsonAxure
Nah I think you have to work to get to the fun stuff

So following that logic, if we did 20 times 5 waves of defense, we should be allowed to select to defend for the B rotation the next time we load into a defense mission and so on. That seems about right. I still believe that if anything needs to be changed regarding the eidolon progression it's connected to either the lore or the mechanics themselves. Brilliant shards should be given a different use than summoning the higher tier sentients. I mean, it makes very little sense to place them as offerings on a shrine. It would make a bit more sense to have the next eidolon spawn on its own and hunt you down for killin' its kin instead of just yolo'ing about like the teralyst does. That way, you won't try for a "pay-to-skip" mechanic :D
