Question

Old old player here. I haven't logged in for who knows how long. Saw that DE has been doing pretty well and that [DE]Rebecca is still doing an awesome job with the community. I am unable to play due to an injury as well as having a new computer that doesn't have the game installed anyway.

So I was wondering if there are other old players who have been away as long as I have and was curious if it was overwhelming to get started again.

Also, what happened clan dojos that are as old as mine? Have they been deleted or are they still there? It says I'm no longer in a clan and I don't remember leaving it before I left. The clan I made was called Lotus Dynasty. Maybe I left it to someone... I dunno, its been a while haha

I was gone since the end of 2013, and picked up recently at the end of 2017.  I was a founder on my PC account, and put in almost a thousand hours before my playtime started to waiver.  Because I switched from PC to PS4 when I started playing again, it wasn't that hard to get into the game again.  I had a fresh slate, and I pulled quite a few friends from my Destiny 2 clan over to Warframe to play with me so I had company when I restarted.  But even still, the game felt very familiar still, even though the controls were a little different than what I was accustomed to on PC.

Quite a lot has changed in the time you have been gone!  But somehow Warframe is still Warfame.  DE has managed to do 5 years of updates to a game and keep the same feeling when you play, which is impressive.  They're are VERY few games that have been developed in front of a live playerbase over several years and managed to keep the feel of the game the same.

If you restart playing once you're able, and I suggest you do so, you'll find a familiar world to explore.  You'll have a lot of things to figure out, but your experience from 5 years ago will definitely help you learn it.  You're better off than the typical beginner.

Welcome back. I've been here for over 5 years now myself.

About your dojo; it's likely that you went inactive and they send in a ticket to get warlord so they could revive the clan and you were kicked due to space and inactivity. I had to do that with my clan. The actual leader quit and there was about 12 of us Warlords, after a year around 4 of us active.

I can't say how it would be returning, I only took a month break in 2013, about 3 times but always came back. Since then, I've been here pretty much every day. Either to log in and build some new things and chat with people for an hour, or play for hours. I've always been on at least once a day.

There's a thread you'll want to check out and I will find the link real quick.

Almost forgot, how did you get injured and are you recovering well?

Almost certainly. The lore has dropped science fiction for space fantasy -- if the Orokin didn't have guns, they would be spacefaring high elves. Power Creep has taken full effect, and weapons that DE flat-out knows are more powerful are Mastery Rank locked. Standard order of business is annihilating 30 enemies in the blink of an eye, and carving apart lvl100 enemies like turkey

I could go on, but all the other changes spiral out from there

Thanks for the reply Alcatraz. Yeah, my clan was small. There was only 4 of us but we were pretty hardcore at the time. I think all of us went inactive. What would happen to it if that were the case? It's ok if it's gone, just curious

Yeah, besides the lore change, that sounds about right. I don't mind space fantasy personally so that's alright. Is anything taken from accounts or changed after being gone this long? I left a little after Mirage was released.

Great reply, Canna. Thank you. I put it 1000 hours as well so it would be hard for me to start completely fresh. Acquired a lot of things I'm proud of even though I haven't been playing haha

I know what you mean!  One of the biggest hurdles to restarting on PS4 was having to start from scratch and lose all the event exclusive items I have on PC.  But honestly, restarting with a group made it worth while for me.

But, definitely pick back up on PC if you don't have a reason to restart!  You got that Founder Bling, and that's worth it by itself.  The world is bigger, but the rules are still [mostly] the same, it won't be that crazy to get back into!

Fusion cores were removed and you were given the equivalent value of those cores in Endo, the new resource for upgrading mods. Same for Void keys, they were switched with Relics and the Vacuum mod for Carrier was swapped with the new Ammo case mod so that Vacuum could be used on every Sentinel instead.. I don't remember any other swaps.

Nothing is removed from your account for no reason, it's only ever swapped with the new version of that thing.

Oh.. and if you had an Arcane installed on your Syandana, it was removed from that and placed into your inventory because you can now equip/unequip Arcanes to your Warframe like you do with mods.

Wait, you played with Mirage..?  That's not even 4 years ago!  Mirage was released in 7/18/14.  3 and a half years away isn't that bad man!

You're right! I fixed the title. Feels like a long time though
