    Someone up above was excited that shock chains off surfaces, but I did not quote them, because I did not want to be rude. Thing is, it did that long before the rework. And then people say they are fine with the rework, but give suggestions on how to make it better. You are not truly fine with the rework if you are giving suggestions. Being ok with everything even with the drawbacks and saying the rework is good means that there is no way in which it should be improved. If you want an improvement, then the rework is not ok.

    That's how I see it, I can't see it any other way. Sorry.

    Volt, why he is treated the way he is, part 2:

    It may be the super obvious I'm pointing out, but...

    Since the title still won't change, it's really undeniable that the alternative to gunplay piece is referring to volt being a melee frame. As a Volt, DE probably envisions that you

    1) Shock things with Shock and Discharge

    2) use speed to run up and hit them

    3) profit. 

    4) and sheild is there for when you get hurt too much from being a melee frame.

    Melee weapons are not guns, and Volt can use melee, therefore he is an alternative to gunplay. 

    Let me give you an example of a frame in a similar predicament: Banshee

    Banshee is advertised as being a stealth frame. 

    DE probably envisions you:

    1) Casting Sonar

    2) Casting silence and killing enemies before the stun wears off (pre passive), or just shooting enemies, running around crouched (post passive, thus why is silence still an ability by itself with nothing added?)

    3) not letting enemies see you and use augment mods.

    4) profit.

    ......

    So the way I see it,  Volt always has been "an alternative to gunplay"....just the way DE pictured he was.

    Why his powers alone won't make him an alternative to gunplay:

    1) Because weapons are more important in this game than the damage Volts powers can do. And because damage abilities are wrong I guess.

    2) Because his ultimate was changed to do Dot.

    3) Because Volt just stuns things. Because Electric eximi are nothing to worry about, which is why DE tried to make them magnetic twice instead of fixing Electricity. Because Electricity is nothing to worry about in this game unles it's apart of the tile set and then for some odd reason it's worse than stepping in a pile of burning garbage.

    Pile of disappointments...:_(. This whole ordeal has been that.

     

    Unfortuantly, just gotta keep trugging on, and pushing for something 

  3. POSSIBLE SYNERGYS

    Soul punch + SotD = Fully heals the shadows and all shadows within a 5m radius of that shadow

    Desecrate plus + SotD = Gurranted health orb on shadow corpses

    Terrify + SotD = For every enemy affected by Terrify, nekros and shadows gain 25% more damage (Affected by power strength) 

    Some Idea's I just came up with

More I experiment the more problems I find, yaaa that health decay has GOT TO GO. Though I'm sure there's as bunch of people that want it because "Balance" I find that the health decay kills them faster than enemies attacking the shadows which requires frequent recast's which destroys you'r energy supply

    SOUL PUNCH - Stayed the same, I personally wanted soul punch to do something with other abilites and have a bit more CC such as knokcing down nearby enemies, maybe heal nearby shadows? 

    TERRIFY - It's ok, I would slightly increase the reduction to 25% and duration to 30 or get rid of duration completely since nekros is not very duration based, maybe increase the range to 25m? with POSSIBLE synergy to buff shadows and you, it is good but I think it needs a little something to spice it up

    DESECRATE - Hmmm, I like it, Preferbly, 5 base energy cost  since nekros is a squishy frame, I would like to have the chance to make a health and energy orb have a slightly higher chance to appear

    SHADOWS OF THE DEAD - So the health drain, heres the thing, many nekros masters out there use Shield of shadows, we use the extra health they get as the damage mitigation,with the base health they have as being "there health" and the extra health being the mitigation. With the drain, it complicates thing's and kills them quicker. Aditonally, in sorties when there are eximus everywere, we can-not make shadows very easliy so we need eximus units to protect us. We can-not have eximus but NYX CAN. I also think a 10 man army would be a good compromise. If for some odd reason, the health drain has to stay(Which I'm very much opposed), and reduce the health decay to 0.5 per sec and make the recast cost 5 energy per shadow instead of 100

    Added clarification to the Shadows of the Dead Augment change

    That means over 80% damage reduction at 200% power strength, good, still want my 10 man army with eximus. Still good though 

  7. Shield of shadows did not change, It needs to change. Going to do some testing, I still think we should have a 10 man army with eximus units due to sorties, maybe that was added in and we don't know, give me a few hour's

    Here are my findings

  8. 1. I want my sancti tipedo, it's fine that lesser used weapons get this to kick them up a notch, but I think should apply to primes as well, for example galatine tigris, there already good, bring up other weapons to speed! 

    2. Moderatly Complex soul swipe would be neat

    3. I want a 10 man army of shadows! As long as there is a few more shadows than what was presented to us last week, i'm good

    You know that moment where a thread pops up, about a frame needing a nerf, or a buff, and people either defend it vehemently or light their torches and cry for it to burn, giving examples as how it is fine as is or completely broken, and generally go after each other's throats?

    And the same people that would wish for one frame to be nerfed or buffed can be seen in other posts defending or tearing down other frames?

    Certain frames avoid this light (Nova, ~Ash used to) while others are constantly in it (Ember~Saryn used to)

    Iv been apart of this, and that's how I would sort of describe it. That's normally how it goes right? Or just me?

    My thoughts are that the same exact thing happens at digital extremes...But the difference is we here don't actually have the ability to rework the frames.

    Let me get to my point, not dev bashing.

    It would be nice (in my little perfect world) if there were a team of 2 or 3 devs that really really liked the frame, and mained that frame and almost nothing else when playing warframe, and 1 reality checker to make sure nothing got too out of hand for a rework. Thatd be nice. You could even have 1 person working with 3 frames they really liked at max. And then they would use the input from the forums to fill in.

    And maybe that's how it works? Or maybe there is a better way? But right now it just seems like certain frames recieve more attention than others, while the less important frames just get little gimmicks that should probably keep them relevant in game to the "popular" frames that most likely even have some favouritism going on at the office from the same exact people on every frame. That's what it feels like..Like these people just looked a volt and said "he's fine as is, but we see a few fans are displeased, so we will add new interactions with his abilities, but put limits on them to make sure they don't get out of hand" and then, "oh Ash, my uber best most favourite. frame, I'll put a slash proc increase on him as his passive, and his blade storm will never be touched." 

    Skip to 3:35 for the important stuff.

    Ash was also one of the first frames to have a complete set of augment mods for his frame, if not THE first.

    And I could continue with Nova, who just jumped in line on the prime list because....what reason that was never explained?

    I've been biding my time playing MWO for the past few weeks hoping volt would get fixed, since he's my favorite frame and right now I just can't work it with him.

    It stinks, were not getting any attention. All we know is that volt is still in a pretty bent up shape- Has been for years. I guess it really is R.I.P volt... So annyoing

    That said, most of us really dislike discharge for many reasons. I feel that the delay and gradual damage renders it rather useless unless you're running capacitance. I liked the general function of overload better, and I think all it needed was a damage buff, or an arc/tesla function, but discharge really just doesn't cut it for me.

    No offense to server who was the one that got the idea to be in the works...Good concept, bad execution. I don't want it anymore. Poor volt, makes my hatred for excalibur grow

    It tickles him...like any other enemy... even pablo on prime time said that before the rework, almost surpring it didn't influence there to be any change

    We live in a world were synergy is ridding of "ult abilites" saryn is a good example and so is volt now, if overload were to deal immense damage like frost's avalanche, debuff enemies that survive, and or damage them over time, things would have been better. This nerf (Not calling it a rework!) had so potential like excaliburs back in 2015! that was just a year ago! If abilites need be replaced, for example replace ES and speed with something else, make it better! like with mag! Yes he's good as a "starter" but that's it and it is unacceaptable for him to be nothing more than a starter!

    Vor has a shield that restores his health and shields along with being immune to damage... ACK! This is frustration to no end!!! :angry: something super big has to come to us, just has to! ...No wonder excalibur is praised over volt...

    He has 4 electrical abilities He just doesn't use them all at the same time.

    1) he has electrical WOF, lightning chains down from the sky. he uses this when you are trying to escape him on earth when you first start the game. Its so the player can not get too close and actually kill him.

    2) he has an impenetrable 360 degree sheild that regenerates all health and sheilds lost, at the expense of mobility.

    3) he has the ultimate power continuous shock stream we have been asking for on volt for years.

    4) he has giant tesla mines(vauban) that deal electric and slash

    And he does it all with a void key.

    Now...if he had a valid story like A lad v, where he scraped together some parts off a warframe, itd be ok. But it's a void key. This has been the most annoying part of the game to me as a volt fan.

    If he was able to use all 4 attacks at the same time, I would out right quit. The fact that he is easily murder destroyed after a certain point in the game only makes it slightly less annoying...

     

     

    Great, lets be jealous of captain vor... but even he does it better 

  16. @Adder9 Just came up with some ideas

    2 step like inaro's 

    Electric siphon : Volt reserves 25% of his energy which adds bonus electrical damage and multiplies his shields, use electric siphon on enemies to send a blast of lightining bolt's in a moderate area of affect for 10 seconds. Those in range will be stunned for the whole duration and are opened to finishers 

    Something like Ash

    Lightning twins: Volt makes 2 electric colones that run around all nearby enemies dealing 500 electric damage with every passing run, these colones will run around a 15m radius around volt and drains 3 energy per second. Enemies within range will constantly be damaged, the longer volt has his twins up, the stronger they become, but drains slightly more energy with every few passing seconds 

    Something like ember 

    Lightning tempist : Volt has lighting that constantly runs down next to him in a 5m radius dealing 750 elecrtical damage per second, drains 3 energy per second and increase in damage and drain the further lighting tempest is on

    Then there's my other idea of volt being a mix of valkyr and nezha, but his body is a weapon and if you touch him you die... 

     

  17. I really would like for soul puch to do something with other abilites, I think it was stated that 8 would be the max shadows, I think 10 is a more reasonable amount. Not sure how the augment would change but I think buffing it between 8-15% per shadow would be nice. What I do like is a no duration based SotD! using them to there fullest! I'm not going to lie that i'm nervous about it, just don't want anything to get out of hand. That and being having eximus units because sorties. Nekros is the man!
