I really like the new weapon swapping system. However, it's a bit annoying when you are carrying a datamass and you aim and it gets dropped. Maybe they should just let us use primaries when holding these things OR make it that the warframe holsters the datamass or something

I feel like this might be an oversight, You should change to secondary when you pick up a datamass, and then be able to aim no issue without dropping it...

Its great that melee is getting more attention but I miss the old control scheme. The auto block removes one of the active parts of melee combat, the fact there is no "melee mode" means that you always have to use a secondary button, even after drawing your melee weapon, and doing melee only runs have lost alot of the fun they had. The directional slam is cool, and I get that warframe is a shooter, but honestly just removing holster times and ad/ding the new slam would have been much preferable to loosing melee as a core and fun mechanic. Is it possible to have the best of both worlds? Just have a button under the keybindings section in options to use 2.0 or 3.0 controls or something like that? That way people could enjoy warframe as a shooter with some brawler mechanics, or as a brawler with some shooter mechanics.

I don;t think you even need that, just have an keybind like we used to to switch to melee, doing it would basically give you the old mechanic.

It may be less than 3 hours, but its more than enough to see i don't want this new control setup for what is essentially just "removed weapon swapping animation" and "automated blocking".

I' much rather keep the old system and just add the swapping speed changes(removal). the ironic part is that if you use the "primary fire to melee" option, this new system feels WAY clunkier instead of fluid than the old one, completely backfiring on the original point of the system. (Playing with controller is even worse since now without dedicated melee, several keys and actions cannot be rebound anymore, and WFs default controller control scheme is horrible). Besides i don't think anyone outside DE wanted this system, hence the "maybe when some hands on experience you might change your mind" messages, so lets just throw instant weapon-swapping out. and get on with the stances and stats instead. the part we DO want of the melee rework.

Maybe it's because of how I use the Melee mechanic, that beside some glaring issues (no block aim glide) I quite like this new system.

Oh, and as a person who bound his melee button to M1, the current toggle to use M1 for melee is... awkward. It's appreciated that you considered us, but it's still clunky.

Maybe it's the difference in how we play, as I don't find it clunky at all, quite the opposite...
What about a a key to toggle fixed melee instead of M1? Toggle on and you are fixed into melee until you use a normal switch weapon bind or toggle back... I guess that is just like the old switch to melee key...

I don't see why that can't be an option.

I tested blocking against a heavy gunner with Inaros and a rage build. He started at 150 energy but quickly went to zero, losing 10 energy per shot of something near that.

I can see why auto channeling is nice but even as a channeler I would think you would still want blocking to be manually for that reason so it doesn't waste your energy, no? Or have it as a toggle.

Well, I've been testing on my Nekros, so I have basically unlimited energy, but it is a toggle, so it is an option to just turn it off when I need to, no doubt it's not perfect, but after being really worried about the future of channeling, I feel this is a step forward overall.
Funnily enough, I was having issues with my Nekros NOT draining enough energy (first world Equilibrium Nekros Issues), so more energy drain is welcome.

    •  I am another one of those people who

    - MOSTLY play with a melee weapon and

    - have the melee attack keybound to the left mouse button

The problem for me with the new system is I either have to melee via the keyboard (sorry, that doesn't work for me)

or I continue to melee with the mouse, and now my primary FIRE key for primary and 2ndary weapons has to be bound to the keyboard.

So, yeah, I guess until something changes, I am going to bind my weapon fire to they keyboard, and keep meleeing with the mouse...

NOT THE BEST SOLUTION IMHO 😞

    Bro... please... format your post...
I can see how this can be irritating, I use the forward thumb (Target Icon) button on my G502 mouse, pain to have a get a new peripheral but it's another option.

  5. Most of these changes I do like, being one of the 3 people that use channeling builds I love the fact I can have channeling on forever after I press my channeling key (which was my swap to melee key previously), and on builds where I mostly melee I auto block all shots, that is awesome...

But yes... Not being able to bullet glide with Melee is a problem however... I think the remedy is for bullet glide to use whatever weapon you have out when you start the glide (press left mouse) If your gun is out when you start gliding you aim down iron sights, if you had a melee out, you just block the entire glide.

No bars held. Rivens for everything. Warframes, Kubrows, everything.

Let the game reach critical mass. Fly too close to the sun, and watch the sun blink.

Rivens are to Balance weak items... The WF Balance is done by direct changes to them... They don't need a Riven... Pets are not direct interaction items, they also do not need them.

I know for sure I'm not the only one that has thought of this, and maybe someone posted about this in forums already as well, but why is it that we cannot gift Tennogen items to our friends on Warframe? Is there something up with guidelines for Steam? Even so, the same process of money being spent is going through, it's just... given to another player.

(In short, I love the entire gifting process, but why can't we gift Tennogen items?)

    You have been blessed Tenno!

You don’t have to pay, we should be able to do this for free, as in choosing our pets from the pet selection menu, if it’s in stasis then we can drag it out from the same menu

I was emphasizing that, if given the choice, I would pay in replacement to the system we have now, because that is how much I hate the current system... Not inferring that they should bring payment it back now that it's gone.

  9. Multi-platform updates are not uncommon, has happened with every Prime Access for years, I would not take it as anything substantial.

"cross-save" will never happen because Sony/Microsoft, cross-play might happen, maybe in future if Sony can be broken in further, but I would not put my money on it. I would be fine with patches going out on all platforms on a pre-defined date regulated by the consoles cert. More people the merrier I guess.

  10. With the new set mods and fetch being available I've been making some builds that include pets...
I also change frames quite a bit to keep stuff interesting.
This mechanic of having only one pet at a time, and having to put current pet into stasis, wait... Get next pet out... Equip... Why does it exist? I mean it literally just wastes my time with unnecessary screwing around.

DE knows this system is horrible, it was worse when we had to wait  30min or spend 10K creds to speed up the process, but instead of just fixing the entire issue by getting rid of it... They just half fix it. But we still need to go through the process of switching out pets for no actual reason as far as I can tell... What, the digital "creature" is more "alive" than a sentinel?

I'll give an example: I just went to Fortuna to do some bounties, I use a mecha set Ash build in OV ATM because frankly it's OP, But I forgot my Mecha Set Kubro was in Stasis because I'd been using Nidus + Helmith... Awesome -.- ... Back to my Orbiter... 6 Kubros, which one has the mecha build is anyone's guess as I've not used it in a week or so. Place pet in Stasis, remove other pet from stasis, move to arsenal, equip, check, nope, go back to Incubator, REPEAT... This is the best way to implement what is essentially one type of equipment when all other types of equipment are near instantaneous to swap? c'mon, Really?

    Solution:
I would pay the 10K creds again so that I can select my pet directly from the arsenal (not that I think you should as you have already removed the cost now), if it's in stasis fine have "in stasis" plastered across it, but at least still have it selectable/equitable and be able to look at its mods while in the arsenal (even lock down its mods till it's out of stasis if you want) and have the pet remain as part of the loadout when you swap frames. When I leave the arsenal with an "in Stasis" pet, sure, give me a warning that I'll be swapping out one pet and putting the other back in stasis (make it an option in the arsenal as well)...

But don't make me go through this multi-menu 'select, move and wait' process when I just want to change frames or one piece of equipment in the build and get back in game, even focus (thankfully) is a fast switch in the arsenal now, please update the pet system to be this simple... As it's still pointless and irritating if you want to make the most out of builds with pets.

It really is a vestigial system and I seriously wonder why it just hasn't been completely removed from the game. They keep removing/redacting small chunks of it but the clunk is still there. I kinda wonder is there is some sort of under the hood coding nightmare that is preventing them from just changing it over to a user friendly interface or if it's just some holdouts that don't want to update the system because immersion?

Eitehr way the Stasis system being removed would be a massive QOL update for Warframe. Maybe it will come with the new Kavat *fingers crossed*

I can't imagine it would be difficult, if they can add the exalted weapons system in, they can defiantly change the pet system to an analog of the ones we already have in game.

I can't agree more that it would be massive QOL update, especially now that Pets have functionally been brought to the level of sentinels and Vacuum, it really needs to be done.

Can you? I'm pretty sure kuva survival is a different mission type than regular survival. It's possible DE thought of that and it counts, but based on DE's track record it's also entirely possible they didn't. I'd hold off on doing those until it's verified and hotfixed if necessary.

You'll complete about 4 acts in a single 60 minute Kuva survival...

  13. So skip them, Steve said you only need to do about 60% of them to reach max rank before the end of the 10 weeks.
SO much crying over something you don;t even need to do...
SOME of us like a challenge... This game has few, so this is a welcome task as far as I'm concerned.

...Not that I'm defending the stasis timesink being a problem but this is 100% on you and not the system, If you're going to have that many companions each with a different build then you should likely make a post-it note with which one is which to PREVENT this issue from happening in the first place.

Hindsight Man...AWAYYYYYYYY -flies off into sunset-

I should not have to use outside sources to keep track of equipment that in every other part of this game does not have such an issue. I have that many Kubros because there are 5+1(+2) different species of pet... If I want to use Nidus... I need to do the process to get out my Helmith, changing frames should not be this arduous or requiring a separate self made manual to use. Anyone, the part you quoted was the event which prompted the OP, keeping seperate postsit notes would not fix the process of changing pets when you swap frames.

I understand the original idea behind it, but 4 years later WF is a much faster game and more streamlined in the frame swapping process, but this pet mechanic is old and not up to the standard of the current game or UI.

Changing to operator to switch Focus was annoying, it was changed... Pet switching is annoying, it needs to be changed.

  17. Mag Deluxe Skin/model will turn a dark oil like colour entering the plains, it will remain until I leave the plains, it also goes away when in Archwing, sometimes it stays on into Cetus, but that is less frequent.
This appears to be only Client Side.

Yesterday (she should be Crimson Red (see video below))

My original post from a year ago.

My Video from a year ago: (little has changed)
    1. As I leave the gate, my Mag Prime is a Crimson Red (same as her Cape), this turns to dark oil colour as I stand outside the gate.
    2. As I enter Archwing the colour my frame should be comes back, but leaving Archwing the dark oil colour returns.
    3. As I enter the gate to leave the plains I am the oil colour, but when the rewards screen pops up, the crimson red colour it should be returns.
