I do think DE has made some changes to this. The game is meant to be a co-op game, but many people play it solo. So perhaps DE is trying to encourage people to play in teams?

I have just given up on missions that require enemies to spawn for mission progression. I tend to play solo, and the rate is abysmally low. So it is not enjoyable. I do not know if this was intentional on DE's part, but they seem to be progressively reducing solo spawns.

I don't know if that's the right way of encouraging coop 😄 . I don't like to play in groups too much because it's just a struggle to be able to shoot at anything before the entire map dies. If I can't shoot anything in solo either boring times will be ahead 😉. It's the main reason I don't really play survival anymore, got tired of playing Nekros and other frames struggle too much to keep life support up, even if you immediatly kill everything in sight. For fissures you run into the added problem that the entire group has to extract, so the only endless fissure I bother with is defense, wlthough that takes much longer per opened relic that capture. So in the end, at least for me, the relic system has kind of killed diversity instead of reinvigorating it 😄

You should acknowledge DE's stance, and explain why it is incorrect.

DE's stance is incoherent at least. They say they don't want ppl to stay in missions for hours, but not too long ago, not even a year, so after they started this approach, we had this really fun defection event, where ppl needed to stay in the same mission for half a day to be eligable for the rewards. Then we got Khora which requires grinding the exact same missions for hours and hours and hours. Just because you have to restart it again and again doesn't make you spend a single minute less inside the same mission. Sure, theoretically you can take breaks easier, but after having the defection event I sincerly doubt they care about the players health that much.

I have to say I'm undecided at the topic. Endurance for me isn't as fun as it used to be mostly due to the fact that I learned how to exploit the AI and the scaling well enough that it's not a challenge anymore to reach high timers. Maybe that's because I mostly played them solo, especially survival, might be more fun in a group, but we desperatly need individual extraction for that mode before attempting to make ppl stay longer there.

What I do get is the frustration of the OP with all the people telling him basically "DE made it so, now it's law forever".  We are allowed to have thoughts, this entire section of the forum is dedicated to those since the Devs very well know that they are in a process of development. They are not as arrogant to think they already found perfection for everything, so arguing from that standpoint serves no point. And every time I see a statement starting with "they think" I have to laugh... pls only state what you think you're not a mindreader. Most of the time that start is only followed up by an interpretation of one of the official statements (sometimes not even that) from a specific point in time. Be mindful that a single statement can be heard differently by different individuals before starting to attack them based on some perceived devine knowledge you possess. (that last paragraph is not directed at you @krc473 it's more a general observation i came across latley in these forums regarding people suggesting changes 😉 )

  3. @peterc3 he was obviously talking about the fact that ancient healers can extend their aura on the drones and you can neither break that aura with radiation or kill the healer first as you normally would. This seems indeed like an oversight especially considering they removed overlapping ancients auras a while back. Reading before defending helps sometimes.

That would make the grind too easy and would give no incentive to buy it with platinum. That would undermine DEs business strategy. WF is a F2P game that needs to produce a profit in order to sustain itself.

you could ofc set the parts that need to be traded in much higher than the statistically expected tries you need to farm the frame. The player would still see some progression and not feel like their time has been completly wasted by the game.

Also this fairness to those who farmed thing is being brought up again and again. Effort only gets valued when there's enough plat sales behind that. You might call that clever business but at least let's be honest about it, it's not really to honor the players but save sales. Also wanting everyone to suffer the same as you did is a little bit selfish, especially when you can't even sell the stuff 😉. There have been many things I farmed that became easier to get over time, I've been okay with that and would support even more of that.

You being in a private group or solo doesn't mean the game rules shouldn't apply to you.

Gamerules can be changed. Wanting to change the rules in a setup that doesn't allow you to mess up unsuspecting ppls fun and does not give you a huge unfair advantage is a perfectly valid desire and saying that something can't be done because it's not being done yet carries no weight as an argument.

That's a bit unfair, they added the two new eidolons alongside the arcane drop table, as well as the extended cave systems for the Plague Star event, and also added the Ghoul event as well. On top of a few other items here and there that you can grind for.

EDIT: Also I enjoy the eidolons. They seem to be pretty popular judging by recruit chat every night cycle.

Fair enough, although going by recruit chat is not the safest way of judging popularity, you could also see lots of ppl looking for the old raids, although I'm fully acknowledging that Eidolons get more traffic than those 😉 . And adding the Arcanes to the Eidolons was the consequence of removing unique content so I'm not even considering going to count that as a positive addition. The caves were already there btw and plaguestar in general is a dangerous example for something new because of its boss. I give you the Ghouls though. Problem was never the items but the fact that the bounties, which are the core mission gameplay, is still stuck in the sorry state it has been in since the bugs that made them literally unplayable have been wiped out (which took a while if you remember that). The grind in poe wouldn't be that bad if we had at least a bit more variety but instead every problem the Ostrons face can be solved with the same combination out of 6 very short mission types with lots of walking inbetween.

i wont argue about the fun of Eidolon hunting since that is completly down to taste and if you say you like it that's good enough for me I'm not in a position to define the general meaning of fun 😉 . For me it's not though and part of that is because they failed to bring the promised challenge and narrowed the game down to a fixed meta you need to bring to farm them efficiently and robbing the frames of their character while doing so (f.e. reducing Trinity to a bless machine for Lures, completly removing her energy restoring capabilities so she needs to eat pizza like crazy...my Trinity has gained lots of weight during those fights...). So while I'm not discussing what can count as fun, I do state that PoE never brought the promised entertainment for lategame players and has been abandoned far before it could realize its potential like so many other things that have been started in this game, which is why I fear that Fortuna and Railjack will meet the same fate and we will never get an in depth rework of the core mechanics like the enemies AI.

  10. vor 23 Minuten schrieb Uthael:

Doubt it. I think Eidolons were more likely a test run for Monster Hunter gameplay. And imho, that went quite well. ... Although we could use more variety for that.
The rest is the sad truth. Most MMOs have this "problem".

    What I don't get is:
Why don't the devs let us choose the starting point of that scaling? Those Arbitrations (probably "arbs" soon enough) really should start above 100.

Well then the Devs blatantly lied to us about the purpose of the Eidolons on their streams didn't they? 😉 You could be right though, if you look at it PoE seems to have drifted very quickly from THE big project to an now abandoned test run for the newest great open map, nothing really got improved upon or even extended before the successor had already been announced and taken away the ressources. As for the success of EIdolons, idk, I don't have any numbers and certainly can't speak for others. Just for me they felt extremly boring like jogging next to a very much uninteressted guy who makes many lights and noises without any sort of danger present and certainly not like an epic fight that was promoted beforehand. But that's just me 😉

Something like Nox was a step vaguely in the right direction

Have to disagree with you on that one. Sure they were new for a while, but once you got to know them they're like every other enemy in the game and always execute the exact same of behaviour with the right trigger. Same with Ghouls. So I don't think they were a step in any direction, just more of the same. I fully agree with you on the part that the game needs better AI, right now enemies are 100% predictable and never change anything. It would even be a start if it was as simple as enemies using their melee weapons they all have to engage a Zephyr that cannot be hit with guns 😄 . Although that would technically be predictable too it would atleast show some form of adapting 😉

We really need a new solar system that will have enemies up to lvl 100 or beyond just for the regular mission so there is a reason to get all those godly rivens and invest 8 formas into a gun. We need some kinds of raids where your frame's abilities matter from a teamplay perspective,we need missions that are unbeatable with unorganized play, where you need to have people supporting, ccing, tanking and dpsing together.

We need a new zone that will have its own alerts but at a super high level with better rewards,it's not really satisfying doing a lvl 25 alert just to get a Nitian extract while you can one shot everybody and can't die, there is probably a thousand ways DE can add more content for players that are well above even a level 3 sortie (which i'm not) that isn't just adding more planets but heck,i wouldnt mind having 15 more planets to explore just for the heck of it,its basically 100 hours more at least.

Give it a bit more time and you realize that level in warframe wont add difficulty. Endgame here has always been about shutting the enemy down completly and that is not likley to change. There is a point when survival is only possible if no bullets fly at you because enemies have perfect aim and will oneshot you to go on you need to use cc or invisibility/invincibility of which we have plenty and utilize attacks with unlimited scaling then you have zero problems to go as high as you want and it doesn't even feel like an achievement because you know you're cheesing the game. Real difficulty would require a total rework of the AI because right now they're absolutly useless and make up for that with ridicoulus scaling which you have to cheese after a certain point. And I don't see new AI happening anytime soon so pls, if you're looking for a real challenge be real, warframe will never offer that. Eidolons were introduced as this big challenge for veterany and they too are failing miserably in doing that from the very start of their career. And I fear many players don't even want that challenge, read any balance related thread in here. A large portion of the playerbase is allergic of everything that threatens their ability to skip gameplay and missions altogether to run the grind as efficient as it can be (not realizing that exactly this forces the devs to make the grind wall higher and higher to ensure a minimum level of invested time per goal). I don't want to shoot your ideas down, it's just, I've been around here for a while now and have always tried to play the support rules so actual challenging missions would be a blessing for me as it finally would give my Trinity anything to do. But if you truly wait for that to happen in warframe you'll be as disappointed as I have been when you realize again and again that this is not and will most likley never be the direction the game is headed. The only real challenge the Devs will give you is to overcome you tiredness of having to grind the same missions for thousands of hours before you can say you have collected every item 😉 .

With how the Ignis Wraith was rewarded, I also feel it needs to stick as a reward for the clans that earned it as it was actually a proper competition for it. Do I want to see DE doing this type of reward again? No. But that doesn't mean we need to basically tell any and all clans that tried to get it that their attempt actually was meaningless since now EVERYONE can have it for their clan all without trying.

tbh wanting stuff exclusive for you sounds more selfish than the approach you were adressing. I'm the leader of a clan that has the Ignis Wraith BP and I'd have 0 problems with everyone getting that damn thing. I'd even welcome it, because it would mean less trades are neccessary because ppl really pile up when you give it away for free. I don't feel like that would invalidate our struggle at all, we had the leaderboard and a while of exclusivity, we don't need that forever. It's the same kind of argument DE used to never adjust the ressource requirements of the Hema or the broken mutagen samples on Eris and it was bs back then aswell, only used to cover up a blatant money grab. Warframe has no content but the collection of every gear item, limit that with exclusive things and you're upsetting everyone starting the game after the event or taking a break during it. And in case of warframe we get the added problem that much of the game's story is hidden behind events that are never going to return, leaving you with a miserable experience when playing the starchart for the story. I remember I had no idea why Alad V was treated the like we had history when playing the second dream for the first time because to me he was just a guy I shot on Jupiter. Sure you can read up on all that in external sources but tbh the story provided by the game itself up until the second dream is simply terrible and getting those events back in there would somewhat help with that. Honestly, I'd appreciate that much more than skateboard tricks.

I wonder if there's just been sort of a "cried wolf" problem on this. Because people DID complain about the past several consecutive frame sources, even if they weren't actually THAT bad. (Except maybe for Gara before bounty rewards got reworked, that was also pretty damn bad.) Then Khora comes along with about a nine hour AVERAGE time to acquire of facegrinding the same awful game mode, and people just kind of dismiss it as "oh everything gets complained about anyhow".

edit: it doesn't much matter to me, though, since I hate cats and don't want Khora

The problem is that the system allows huge outliers. I've spent far more than those 9 hours and still haven't gotten a single part of rotation C when I need two. I'm not going to reward DE for this kind of design though and buy the frame, I'm simply going to ignore it, not hard for me to do. And yes, several of the last frames did the same, farming the Gara neuroptics did the same thing to me. I did get lucky on other frames most notably I only had to play the defect mission the minimal ammount of time which was kind of great, but I still think there should be a mitigating factor which stops RNG from really screwing you over. The problem with bullying ppl into buying your stuff is that you can only do it so often before even hardcore addicts stop caring. Give them a good time and they will more readily through money at you.

  16. I expected some polishing and expanding on PoE after that released aswell. Instead the plains, once the project of pride, are now the same half finished side project like so many other things. I guess the same will happen to Fortuna when they'll move on to the "next big thing". I don't know, but for me a content drought would be much easier to bear with if the systems that we already have would be a bit more diverse and polished so you could actually play them just for the fun of it. Instead, when I log in now it feels like the only things I really have left to do is grinding the crap out of Kuva missions and onslaught which are both in a state I cannot enjoy.

No it wouldnt, [DE] giving Clans exclusivity to BPs was a major mistake. Some clans took advantage of it shortly after the event to sell the BPs for a price, others try forcing players into their clans just to be able to get the BP. For most player's luck, there are those clans that gladly offer the BP to any who ask so those clans that charged for it quickly got ignored.

I remember I was barely able to play the game anymore after listing the bp for 0p on the market to screw with those who tried to sell it for plat 😄 . Too bad I still had to take an ammo drum in order to give away the bps. As leader of a clan which got the Ignis wraith, I'd still be totally cool, if they made the weapon available for everyone, that event was the worst and brought out the worst behaviour in the community.

A riven should explain the challenge clearly. This one fails to do so, and is thus terrible.

Also it's another one of those plains exclusive challenges which is double-terrible. Still waiting for, idk Venus-Kiliken specific challenges ;). But I guess the numbers for ppl on the plains have to be boosted somehow if bounties alone don't cut it 😄

  19. I raise you a "there's no teamplay in warframe", because we're all geared to the exted to be able to kill every single enemy on the map by ourselfs without giving them the chance to harm us, no matter if there's other players in the group or not. And at this point I don't think the holy trinity (of classes 😉 ) can be implemented anymore, the game is not made with the classic roles in mind. For ppl like me, who love support roles this is pretty sad, but I'm fairly sure I'm part of a minority there so I don't expect any changes in this area.

    Two points:

    1. How much do the rewards improve. I.e. everything.
    2. Is there a significantly increased chance of rare drops occurring on relics?

I do not know where you got that I was denying anything from. I never said it, or anything to that affect. I am aware of some scaling here.

Anyway, that is irrelevant. The point of the thread is "all/most missions", not just fissures.

The boosters are indeed quite significant but i guess you could argue that they're of no use to you personally. You compared the relic reward from reward one to reward 19, which does indeed imply equality and thus no scaling at all. Ofc I did not think you were honestly unaware of the scaling secondary rewards but your implication was intentionally misleading. And it's not irrelevant at all, because this is a clear aberration from the "no scaling at all" attempt. Not to sound overly hostile here, but only because DE said something does not mean that that's a good reason or that's what's really going to happen at all times. There have been plenty of occasions in which DE reversed a decision or went contrary to a previous statement so this discussion is not not useless.

  21. I don't know if plaguestar is a good example of how the mission should be. I mean with being swarmed that much you'd just be forced to aoe even harder than now, meaning only melee and abilities are viable as reload times on guns make them pretty useless. Personally I feel that so many adds are just there to cover up the fact that the boss has no exciting and engaging mechanics to begin with (backed up by the fact that the boss is indeed a Lephantis-clone and nothing more) and pretty much every boss in warframe uses those add-armies already without being a challenge. More enemies or higher levels are no solution in a game that allows you to disable or kill an infinite amount of enemies by pressing a single button or two. When they respawn as fast as I can get rid of them it gets annoying very quickly too because then we're in the cc-only territory that the old raids were.
