Why would I want to spend 300+ platinum on a riven that will only be usable every other week or so? That’s still a ridiculous price for something that is even more volatile then the current system.

Yes the riven system should be changed but imo dynamic disposition based on popularity isn’t the answer. If I were in DE’s position I would have the disposition adjusted based on whatever dps formula DE used to set up the ranged (and soon to be melee) MR brackets for weapons. This would also make a distinction between variants so equipping a Gram Riven on Gram Prime would result in lower stat values then regular Gram.

Then if prices drop even lower, so be it, again, a price worth paying for the variety acquired in return.

Also, DE themselves said Rivens will be dynamic, because they realized it would just be ridiculous for someone to just sit there and adjust hundreds of weapons on a regular basis depending on how strong they are.

For this exact reason ... if someone just bought a Godly Riven for 15k you're saying their investment is a wash? The reason that's been said far too many times is that the current market is too invested in the way things are to change it into something it should be.

And if we let things continue as they are, they'll just get worse, DE might as well bite the bullet, make an announcement months before and then change it, it's for the best.

Or maybe it has to do with the somewhat recent fix/nerf/whatever to nekros desecrate, which resulted in overall less loot, in which case no one's noticed till now.

This is anything BUT recent, it's been like this for at least the past year, or at least that's when I started noticing when helping a few friends that started playing 2 years ago and they finally went through their "gotta increase my MR" phase.

Riven Disposition is supposedly altered. Just, the numbers are so small, and don't effect Pre-Disposition-Shift-Rolled-Rivens that no one really notices it.

This information came from a data-mined spread sheet (which I HAVE to find again at some point) that showed things like the Kohm going from a Disposition of 1.45 to 1.40 over the course of, like, 3 months. Like I said, barely any changes. (1.45 number there meaning roughly "1 Normal Mod Stat Averages plus 45% more")

I suspect that Riven's Dispositions DO change with popularity, as DE stated, but also Time, which honestly is how I'd prefer it to be. Something may be super popular one day, but be forgotten a month down the road. I wouldn't want that weapon to ALSO get stuck with a super low Disposition because of that, nor would I want its Disposition literally flying all over the place as Players go "Oh! It's back up! Play play play! Ahhh, it's going down! Shelf it shelf it shelf it!", etc.

That's why we need more sudden BUT ALSO EASILY VISIBLE changes, to add forced variety, as much as it would suck for a weapon to go to the bottom of the tier list one week from the top. And when something like that does happen, well, depending on how much popularity it lost, the week after it will once again get a slightly rise in disposition, eventually (in a happy scenario) bringing all weapons to a mid-point where they're all hovering close to the same use %.

Also I said once every 7 days things will change, I said that for 2 reasons. 1. It's convenient for humans to have something changed every 7 days, because depending on someone's schedule, you'll always get the same amount of time every week to use something. And 2. In 7 days, from my 6 years of Warframe is roughly the time something starts growing some "meta" roots in the community (youtube videos, forum posts, reddit posts, etc), which (hopefully) means things barely start becoming meta just to change soon after and everything feels refreshing yet again and not a cycle of (weak > strong > weak > strong) if given a month for people to discover all the bad weapons and all the good ones of that month and for the rest of the community to follow trend.

  5. 12 minutes ago, Blade_Wolf_16 said:

This would be easely exploitable. People would start using the weekly Meta, which means the previous Meta would be waiting in the Arsenal, untouched, until it becomes "this week's Meta" as the Disposition ranks up while other's get lowered.

This wouldn't change the Meta. It would change it into a cycle of even more specific weapons while the least used weapons are still the least used.

In short, it would be nice, in theory, but it's so easely exploitable by the players that it would just be even worst. And besides, since the Meta won't change because of it, the prices won't change either.

The initial wave of change after the first week (when all the meta weapons drop down and all the non-meta weapons rise) will mostly likely create a ripple-like effect leading towards the next cycle. So many people will use so many weapons that the chaos caused MIGHT just be enough to create new builds and mix things up hard enough that enough people will still stick to their old weapons. For example, I can't see Lanka becoming less usable if it dropped to even 1 disposition due to how good it is, BUT you will see more people using the Vulkar Wraith and Snipetron Vandal as with Rivens they'll be closer to Lanka in power level than they currently are. And that's just one of HUNDREDS of possible outcomes from the chaos caused especially if disposition stats get increased on the higher disposition Rivens.

Imagine a Grakat with 200% fire rate and 200% status chance and 400% damage. Thing would melt high level Grineer like they're nothing, I already have a Grakata Riven with roughly half those stats and it's melting Grineer nearly as fast as my Corrosive status Phantasma.

So many new status and crit weapons become viable that it may just be enough to shake the playground for many cycles down the line. It may stabilize at one point or it may not, with so many variables it's anyone's guess.

  6. If anyone's been here for at least 3-4 years, they know that Orokin cells for example used to be plentiful. One run on Seimeni until wave 10 would yield between 3 and 8 cells depending on luck. At some point (not even I noticed exactly when) things got minutely changed, not sure if suddenly or slowly across multiple patches but doing a 10 wave run of Seimeni now, even with a Nekros, you'd be incredibly lucky to receive 2 cells. After 20 runs of 10 waves, the most I received were 2 cells per run with Nekros melee soloing without any boosters, and most runs were either nothing or just 1 cell.

3-4 years ago when I was in dire need of orokin cells for a lot of primes, I remember constantly running Seimeni for exactly 10 waves every time with Nekros and every second run I was able to craft a prime that cost 10 cells (had lots of blueprints but never bothered crafting them, this was back when Void Keys were a thing).

So why haven't people noticed such a change you might ask yourself.

Well, that's pretty easy actually. If the change was gradual over multiple patches as I'm suspecting, then new players simply didn't know how easy it was to get orokin cells, since when you're new you don't immediately rush to farm cells in a game with so many resources and things to farm for, they mostly come naturally until you FINALLY want to increase your mastery rank and feel like crafting primes worth ~500 cells. As for older players, well, with 3k cells in my inventory, why would I notice such a change when a resource like that is like spores for everyone else. I bet you wouldn't notice if spores drop rate was halved over night either because no one farms for those, now would you?

If DE made such a change willingly or if it was an oversight due to something else is unknown to me, but for a year now 3 of my friends constantly complain about not having enough orokin cells, I had the same problem back in my early years (2012-2014) but when I ACTUALLY decided to farm cells, I finished with everything requiring them in less than a week of intensive farming.

  7. If anyone remembers, we were promised that Rivens would be the holy grail of modding, they were meant to bring the least popular weapons up to par with the rest. How well that was executed and if the stats based on a certain disposition rating were enough is...debatable to say the least (seeing how mostly the strongest weapons benefit from Rivens and how the Riven prices are beyond ridiculous tells me that was mostly a failure worthy of another topic).

BUT, what was also promised was dynamic Riven disposition based on usability %. The fact that Tonker had 1 disposition when it was incredibly popular 2 years ago, and it STILL has 1 disposition now when the last time I saw a Tonkor was over a year ago says that is false.

    Suggestion:

First of all add a UI element, or in-game object where a timer ticks down every 7 days, at which point the system checks the % usage of the weapons in the past 7 days and adjusts Riven dispositions accordingly, not sure what the in-game usage % is for weapons but let's assume 3% is the most used and below 1% (obviously) the least used. 3% or above would have their disposition adjusted to 1, 2.5% usage to 2, 2% usage to 3, 1.5% usage to 4 and anything below 1% usage to 5.

A sacrifice must be made for weapons that include different versions, as only the variant with the most usability out of the different models will be take into consideration. Basically if making normal Gram even weaker just to remove Gram Prime from being on top of the food chain when it comes to heavy blades then so be it.

Which weapons changed and how can also be quickly checked in-game at the same UI element/object. like Gram 5 > 2, Tonkor 1 > 3 or whatever the usability % was in the previous week.

    This does a few things:

    - Adds a ton of variety and "flavor of the week" type of a thing to all of the weapons. Even more so if the actual stats given at a given disposition rank get adjusted, like disposition 5 damage % should be closer to 500% rather than 350% or why would I ever use my Lato Vandal that gathers dust for 6 years over my Euphona Prime?

    - Balances Riven prices to where they're not worth 10 platinum or 10000 platinum, with the abundance of A LOT more viable weapons and the downfall (somewhat) of already strong weapons, the prices of most (if not all) Rivens will probably levitate closer to 300-500 platinum especially with how volatile the Rivens can get from one week to another.

Please DE give us the dynamic Riven dispositions that we were promised in that very first devstream when Rivens were mentioned for the sake of balance and diversity in weapons used, even if that means hurting us Riven traders, it's a price worth paying for the newly refreshing variety of murder tools available at our disposal.

Also please increase Riven slots by a bit if something like this ever gets implemented as you'll see a lot more people using a lot more weapons which they want Rivens for.

  8. Don't agree with ALL the fixes for some things (for example, the new player experience, the game gates enough content away to not overwhelm you and constantly drip feeds you enough to keep you entertained) but you've nailed what the problems in the game are. As someone who plays since closed alpha, the thing this game probably needs the most is reward and difficulty scale-ability in endless missions. And let's not forget that Rivens were meant to be dynamic and scale based on weapon popularity which I believe is a part of the problem with Rivens currently.

Oh also, screw nullifiers and eximus chargers, whoever made those 2 enemies is some sadistic sad little man, because those 2 enemies alone is the reason why this game became 20% less enjoyable.

Looking at the numbers I'm assuming that's the range of the beams in circumference, but that's not really something worth keeping track of so I'd also assume it's a bug where the UI is pulling the numbers for beam circumference instead of beam length.

    Thicc beamz

Seeing how the damage tics appear, I can't see how fat beams help, same amount of damage from what I tested...don't see a reason to get range on him, just max efficiency, and then get as much duration and strength as possible.

  10. +0.2 meters range when holding left click to boost it, mods increase range by about 0.05 meters. Am I missing something or is that intentional, when every other frame gets to double or triple their range with mods, this guy gets a measly 1-2% boost from what looks like 20 meters to like 20.2 meters

basically the Corpus equivalent of Slave Work Songs, used to increase productivity and morale of the workforce. always found such songs really interesting.

pretty kickass song, DE always seem to be on point when it comes to soundtracks. the Sacrifice had an amazing tune as well.

Yes but while slave work songs are made to increase productivity, this also speaks of their struggles and hints on how they work to pay their debt of to achieve freedom. It's clear they made a mistake coming on Venus when it was hot, and they eventually needed help, so when Nef showed up they quickly asked him for it which put them in debt, which in this case seems more like enslavement. I actually sympathize with them. Sure, Cetus dwellers have it hard too, but at least they live a life, these guys, not so much.

Apsolutely. DE has outdone themselves and completely shadowed over any existing and announced games out there so far.
I had to pick my jaw off the floor once I realised my mouth was dry haha.

I have no words for how great things on this devstream are. This was huge. It showed all the devs, publishers and games out there HOW TO MAKE A DAMN GOOD GAME AND STILL EARN MONEY! The things impletented into Warframe and things announced on this devstream put every other game to shame and if this was at E3 other exhibitions would instantly be closed for good because there was nothing on E3 that could even kiss the boots of this single 1 hour presentation.

E3? If Warframe was there it would have been called Pre-Tennocon.

I really really hope they make an extended version. This is probably the best song DE has ever out out, and id gladly pay money for a full song that's 4-5 minuets long.

it also better be on option to play on our ships when the update comes out.

While by itself it is an amazing song, I really wouldn't want an extended version. Unlike DE's other songs, besides the Sacrifice one that apparently Umbra played when he was a man, this song is made by the Solaris United as their anthem of sorts. Wanting an extended version of this is like wanting an extended version of a country's national anthem. No country wants anyone to butcher their anthem with more non-sense than the meaning it already has. The song represents Solaris United and their struggles, it's a symbol of what they are.

Just for the sake of having a longer version since it's a cool tune is fine, but lore/story wise it's not worth it.

I have a friend who can hardly even play on PoE. This will kill the game for him....

My dad has a 9 year old mid-range laptop (at the time) and warframe works pretty well on lower settings. Buying a PC/laptop that can play warframe well is pretty cheap since warframe doesn't require much. A video card from the GTX 600 series onwards is all you need for medium settings. That was 6 years ago. Before I had a GTX 660 and I played the game almost maxed at 60 FPS. I'm seeing GTX 650's being sold for as low as 40$ used.

:3 O Fortuna, the only thing I can still think of in reference:

    "O Fortuna
    velut luna
    statu variabilis,
    semper crescis
    aut decrescis;
    vita detestabilis
    nunc obdurat
    et tunc curat
    ludo mentis aciem,
    egestatem,
    potestatem
    dissolvit ut glaciem."

Yep, O Fortuna feels like an inspiration for Solaris United in general especially with the translation of the last part

    "Fate is against me
    in health
    and virtue,
    driven on
    and weighted down,
    always enslaved."

I think, instead of "the weight of what we own", it's "the weight of what we owe", as the Solaris are apparently in massive debt to Nef. Hope that helps.

Hm, that makes so much more sense, thanks!

  17. I really love that song, so damn much I had to write the lyrics if anyone else is interested. HYPE IS REAL.

Cold, the air and water flowing

Hard, the land we call our home

Push, to keep the dark from coming

Feel the weight of what we owe

This, the song of sons and daughters

Hide, the heart of who we are

Making peace to build a future

Strong, united, working till we fall

Cold the air and water flowing

Hard, the land we call our home

Push, to keep the dark from coming

Feel the weight of what we owe

This, the song of sons and daughters

Hide, the heart of who we are

Making peace to build a future

Strong, united, working till we fall

    And we all lift!

    And we're all adrift

    Together, Together

    Through the cold mist

    Till we're lifeless

    Together, Together
