  1. Any time there's new stuff to be done in Warframe (particularly quests) I tend to play with the in-game music on rather than my own. Once I've seen/heard things enough for it to become familiar, I switch to my library of other video game OSTs. In particular I'm pretty fond of how well the soundtracks for Metroid Prime (or rather, all three of them), Parasite Eve, and NieR: Automata mesh with Warframe. Shadow of the Colossus is also a good soundtrack to have on hand for eidolon hunts. Also, it's perhaps a little counter-intuitive given the nature of the frame, but I find Persona 5's music fits Octavia really well.

Aside: Not that Keith Power doesn't do amazing work, but he's not the guy who composed for the Avengers films; that was Alan Silvestri.

  2. If I had to take a stab in the dark based on the threads I've seen since the devstream, people fell in love with the exalted whip ultimate idea (despite DE never actually having footage of it to show), and, now that it's been replaced with something else, feel somewhat betrayed. Time will tell how good she is; no doubt DE's going to be going through their usual routine of rapid-fire hotfixes for the first few weeks, so hopefully any glaring flaws she might have will get ironed out.

Personally, I'm pretty hyped to run around with an angry metal cat lady.

  3. Dunno what level 20 enemies you're fighting, but I've had pretty good results playing Gara on point-defense missions even after the Mass Vitrify changes. Whether or not it's as good as Frost's Snow Globe is up for debate, but if that's where we're setting the bar for defense-oriented powers, I think you're going to find virtually everything else falls short. Off the top of my head, Mass Vitrify scales comparably well (if not better) with masses of enemies since the absorb is based on their health instead of a 4-second damage window, has much greater horizontal range, and allows you to fine-tune the radius by cancelling it early (or not). On top of that, it blocks enemy pathing in addition to attacks and gunfire. Its main weakness compared to Snow Globe, in my mind anyways, is its lack of overhead cover, which makes it less than ideal--but certainly still useful--on multi-level defense tiles like the Void or Grineer galleons. And that's all to say nothing of its offensive interactions with Shattered Lash and Splinter Storm, both of which are quite useful in their own right.

All things considered I'd say Snow Globe is the superior tool for pure defense, but Mass Vitrify is far from useless.

  4. Renewal does work on lures. Just make sure they're all in range when you cast it, otherwise they might miss the HoT effect. Also, this probably goes without saying, but keep an eye on your energy while it's rolling; the gantulyst and hydrolyst put a lot of strain on your energy pool between healing squadmates and lures, and can run you dry pretty quick after a few weak points have been destroyed.

  5. Seeing as your teammates are the ones actually doing the mission with you, and not random forum-goers, maybe try communicating with them? See if they're confident in their vault cracking skills? Offer tips or possibly a carry if they're not? And maybe lose the condescension 'cause that's not getting you anywhere?

Or just do what everyone else is suggesting and go solo. Either way, considering they're quite doable and run about the same length of time as most other sortie missions, I doubt spy sorties are going anywhere. Best figure out a way to deal with it.

  6. Not that you don't have something resembling a point, but citing issues that came and went 4-5 years ago (Zanuka Hunter drops, Gradivus Dilemma) as your examples isn't giving your case a lot of weight. Also, re: The Gradivus Dilemma specifically, the intent was for the Grineer to start strong and have the Corpus make a comeback partway through--which they did, even if it wasn't enough to win the event. DE said on a devstream that they only planned those two parts, and had no plans for what the outcome was going to be; take that as you will.

For better or worse, these sorts of growing pains are part and parcel with a dev team that's relatively small and has to rely on players for a lot of its testing needs. Call me complacent, or perhaps dismissive (or both), but I hardly see the point in such broad sentiments as "Warframe needs better development management," or "This never should've happened to begin with"--at least, not without being able to provide something relevant to a solution.

    Hm, I stand corrected.

There's still the issue of scaling, enemies are going to be getting harder and harder, without scaling there will be no incentive to go into higher levels when you can just leave at 20 minutes or so and start over stress-free.

Give me a reason to do high-level stuff, DE!

The impression I'm getting from Kuva survival currently is it's something of a middle ground between regular siphon missions and flood missions. In the short term, you're liable to get more Kuva per time compared to a standard siphon mission, especially if the siphon pops up on a relatively long mission type like mobile defense, spy, or (ship) sabotage. Kuva floods probably win out--as they should, given the increased level. The main advantage to Kuva survival, in my mind at least, is control: It's always up in the same place, it's always a survival mission, and you can extract after however many filters you want. Being able to get conventional endless rewards like Void relics at the same time is also a bonus.

Personally I'm pretty happy with where it's at right now, all things considered. It's a nice alternative.

Except survivals give you gradually less survival towers as time goes on, so kuva survival, even if it had its base amount increased, is still linearly less efficient over time than siphons.

It needs to scale, there is no way around it.

    From today's hotfix notes:

Survival Life Support Towers no longer have interval spawn scaling (90 seconds + 1 second per pillar), instead they will just spawn every 90 seconds.

  9. I feel like Mercury, if anything, would be the best candidate for this sort of thing. It's been a while since my last astronomy course, so I forget what the composition of Mercury looks like, but as hot terrestrial planets go, it's kinda the one that comes to immediate mind.

Also, the Orokin were formidable, but despite their claims to the contrary, they weren't gods; if they had the power to manipulate the sun as they saw fit, chances are good they wouldn't have been looking to other star systems like they were. The Void is magical, not omnipotent.

  10. Just a quick thing I noticed while doing the Gift of the Lotus alerts this evening. When you get the Dex Sybaris, the message reads:

"This Dex Sybaris is yours. When you use it, remember that moment when my voice first called you to wake from you cryopod and restore balance in the Origin System."

Bolded for visibility. Obviously it's supposed to be "your," not "you."

(Aside: I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so if it's in the wrong place, I welcome a moderator to move it.)

  11. It's a Grustrag Bolt. If you're defeated by the Grustrag Three, they'll attach it to your warframe; as long as it's attached, your damage output against Grineer will be severely reduced. And, as with most things Grineer, it looks quite hideous.

That said, Lotus should have sent you a message with an attached blueprint that'll disengage the bolt and set you back to normal. If I remember right the build time is pretty quick and the resource cost is low, so you should be fine in no time.

  12. Warframes and Operators are separate entities. The sex/gender of one has no bearing on the other.

Also, it's become increasingly clear over time that the warframes were made based on (perhaps even from) actual individuals from the Orokin era. If that is indeed the case, then it makes little sense for them to have both male and female versions.
