“Why use Serene Storm at all if your normal melee weapon is better?”

Because it's fun to use and it does what it needs to do for me just fine? Sometimes I like to change things up a bit for variety. Sometimes I like to smack mooks upside the head with a staff, sometimes I like to go Wolverine on fools, sometimes I like to play whack a mole with a hammer.

Not everything has to be "God Tier" to be useful or enjoyable. And unlike most people, I'm not obsessed with "big numbers" or what the latest meta happens to be.

Ultimately, I play to have fun. If a given weapon (or 'Frame) looks cool and is fun and useful to me, I keep it. If not, in the trash it goes.

Just because I dislike, for example, Valkyr's Hysteria / Claws, it doesn't mean I can go to someone and say "You like Hysteria? That ability's trash and you should feel bad for liking it."

The Nikana prime for example can kill higher level enemies faster than Serene Storm.

That's nice to know but completely irrelevant to me as I don't fight dumb sponges like most people do.

To add to the rest of the feedback given, I can verify this as well. I really hope the devs sort this mess out soon.

At this point, you're being willfully ignorant towards railjack mechanics.

I think they just want to be right at this point, even if it means moving the goal posts, hand-waving, name-calling, and telling people they don't agree with to "go away".

I studied philosophy, so I understand the important distinction between stated opinions and arguments, where the latter involves sound reasoning and evidence to back up the assertions being made. In a proper debate, the idea is to uncover what is actually true and correct - not for someone to BE correct. We arrive at the truth by examining the reasoning on all sides and verifying that the evidence being presented is indeed correct or can be verified. Most importantly, all participants must be willing to concede that they might be incorrect in their reasoning or that the information that they have to support their argument could very well be flawed or at least insufficient.

Reasonable evidence was needed to back up the assertion that wreckage drops can actually have worse stats than comparable researched gear of equivalent or lesser level / mark...and ultimately was presented by at least two people. Evidence that can be verified by ANY player.

If no-one is willing to accept this as reasonable evidence to support the claim...then they're just being stubborn and unwilling to accept that they might be wrong.

Yeah and so has every other person who’s tried to defend Serene Storm’s build.

Hey, I'm just saying that Serene Storm works just fine for what it's designed for. It's got style and can power through the star chart and for me, that's all it needs to do. Anything extra is just icing on the cake and being able to punch groups of mooks at range for extra damage makes for some tasty icing.

That being said, please don't assume I'm some try-hard that does Sorties and ESO ad infinitum who's also a raving fan of Baruuk, because I'm not. I like Baruuk and use it from time to time because the 'Frame brings some interesting abilities and play style to missions, but Oberon's my main.

but this blind belief that his 4 is a good exalted weapon is honestly starting to make me hate his fans.

So what's your idea of a "good exalted weapon" anyway? That it be able to one-shot Sortie-level content?

I'd also add that hate's a rather strong word to be using, which suggests you have some tolerance issues towards people and you seem to be taking this too personally. This is ultimately a game and people like different things in it for different reasons. If those people are not negatively affecting your game-play experience, just...let them be.

Seriously though and for what it is, I find Iron Staff to be an effective damage dealer with some nice reach. Not Exalted Blade territory kind of damage mind you, but that ability is kind of OP anyway.

Unfortunately his 4 sucks for damage.

    My crit build suggests otherwise.

I think the "Reluctant Warrior" trope fits Baruuk far more accurately. However, even that's a bit problematic...reluctance and pacifism are attitudes and mindsets that people have towards fighting enemies; That's more to do how a person chooses to behave rather than the abilities and tools they have.

    1) Munitions Vortex now costs 100 Energy and does not absorb friendly fire.

    4) Crewship healing bubbles in the veil now act as Nullifier bubbles, too, dispelling all Void Holes, Tethers, Phoenix and all Archwing abilities on contact.

    5) Stealth affinity multiplier no longer works in Railjack missions.

    6) Particle Ram now costs 15 energy per second to maintain.

    7) Gian Point now always spawns a side objective (Turbine, Shipkiller/Missile Platform)

😎 Vidar Reactor drop rate as a mission reward doubled, it's now 4%, sharing a slot with other junk. To compensate, 10,000 Credits cache added back into reward rotation.

Your argument has no credibility. You not only strawmanned an entire post and ridiculed the person you disagreed with, but you're also doing a fair bit of unreasonable gatekeeping.

Back to the stove analogy...the experience of getting a slight burn from briefly touching a hot stove provides me with enough information to figure out that prolonged exposure to high heat or fire will be extremely painful and potentially damaging and that I should avoid being burned in the future.

I did one Lich as well...and that gave me sufficient information to deduce that dealing with Lichs, at least for me, is not a fun or rewarding experience and one that should be avoided as long as the system remains in the state that it's in.

If a pan looks to be uncomfortably or painfully hot, I'm not going to touch it. I'll touch it when its cool enough to handle. Likewise, I refuse to touch the Lich system ever again until I deem it to be fun, interesting, challenging, and rewarding and not frustrating, grindy, and needlessly punishing.

Exactly. People can form educated opinions through observation and studying the experiences of others.

I've see the injuries that can occur from car crashes and can reasonably conclude that motor racing is a hazardous activity with a very high chance of inflicting bodily harm on its participants if something goes wrong. Given the sheer number of cars moving at high speeds, the odds of something going wrong are quite high.

Oh yes, the so-called "solution" to every problem in the game...try and grab whatever's meta for dealing with enemy X and apply cheese until dead. If you don't have what's meta, you're a bad player for not being savvy enough and you're doing it wrong.

Well...It's rather hard to "git gud" when the game decides to roll dice and then screw you over because you rolled bad or the game said so. See Lich Roulette.

I beg to differ. Gaming in and of itself is not productive. It's a leisure time activity. At least complaining and providing criticism aimed at trying to get changes made to a game so that it's more enjoyable is doing something constructive.

Putting up with stuff you don't like in a game when you have the means to try and affect change means you really don't care enough about the game you like to want to actually do something about it.

The lich system is not only buggy, it is incomplete, poorly implemented and is a delay tactic which is greatly disliked  for its multiple level RNG loop. An absolute sham of a content update which is changed in the last moments due to some internal call, the voice lines, actions, effects indicate it is not what was originally planned. It's not the kingpin system, it's a different thing, so that too is missed.

I think it might be more accurate to say that the Lich Nemesis system was slated to be part of / derived from the Kingpin system. IIRC, Kingpin was supposed to have nemesis enemies for each faction and that a certain dojo room would allow you to plan attacks aimed at stopping them. Kuva Liches seem to be one part of that, but were redone at the 11th hour.

Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken about this.

    Otherwise, I agree with you.

The current Railjack system was rushed out to get players during the holiday season, filled with even more delay tactics and RNG and rarity walls, not to mention it is exactly another island when it was showcased as something that bridges islands - this I would say is the one truly disappointing realisation for me, maybe it will change over time, but since it not full the road map has not actually been met.

    Pretty much.

Melee rework is still not complete, though it is acceptable enough in its current state.

It still needs a fair bit of fine tuning though. Heavy Attacks being triggered by combos is a big deal for some people for example. Aside from some wonky combos and other niggling issues, I'd say that melee's in a somewhat better place now compared to several months ago.

New player experience (that cinematic that was released caused quite some hype) is not here, don't even see them talking about it, guess they gave up already. So that is missed.

As a player that's been around since 2013, this doesn't affect me. However, as a clan warlord, I've seen a lot of new players just flat out abandon ship despite the help and tips I've given them...and they've all said the same thing. The grind is tiring, getting mastery is a chore due to the need to build and rank up lots of gear, which requires a fair number of slots, etc., and the fact that learning things about the game isn't very intuitive, is hidden away, or requires a third party site to figure out.

No other developer / publisher gets away with this. Not Bethesda, not Ubisoft, not EA, no-one else. When the big boys do this, people practically riot and for good reason. Yet for some reason, DE has a "Get out of Jail Free" card and this is just so many levels of wrong. You know what? I'm just going to leave these here.

It can be use 1 shot for crewship at earth sectors but only almost all. And this so call *** Dome charge *** is nothing different than a rail-gun.

It supposed to be 1 shot without the mod upgrade. I tried zetki and it still need like 3 hits to kill 1 crewship at veil. And the cannon possessed ZERO PIERCE.

And yes as people said, engine's block or need a clear shot, charge time too long with pilot must stand still.

    Include, it need zooming function.

The charge to shoot mechanic is rather painful to be sure. Change charge-up to click to fire and give us a cool down equal to the former charge-up time. Telescopic sights would be MASSIVELY appreciated.

Crewship Engines should count as separate, destroyable components that can be be taken out. Destroying a single engine should reduce speed by 1/3. Destroying all 3 engines should leave the ship completely crippled and drifting in space.

But I think the real elephant in the room is insane enemy scaling that makes even MK III weapons coupled with the best avionics a bad joke. At Veil Proxima, the "forward artillery" is pretty much pointless when employed against Crewships due to obscene health scaling.

DE, you haven't given us challenge...you've given us a massively imbalanced slog-fest filled with dumb bullet sponges.

This is just more apologetics, though, as you yourself are admitting that DE didn't deliver something they'd explicitly announced. Forget about the Kingpin system from three years ago, they didn't even deliver the Kuva Lich system from the Empyrean demo. I can in fact talk about promises here, as this is stuff DE said they'd release: while it's fine and natural for a feature to change over time due to evolutions in the development process, that is different from selling a visibly unfinished product that looks nothing like what was advertized, with no justification given.

If anyone should be apologizing for the all the objectively unfinished (and by extension buggy and questionably balanced) content that the most recent major updates have foisted on us players, it should be DE - and no one else

DE's comprised of adults. They can (hopefully) take care of themselves. They don't need an army of fans to protect them. They're old enough to be able to accept and acknowledge mistakes and missteps and say "Hey we done screwed up, we're sorry, and we'll try and fix things as best we can."

The forward artillery cannon (unlocked at Gunner 5) is capable of killing crewships in one shot. That is its intended function.

Agreed. Using it on anything else is a waste of ammo. Side and chin guns are really meant for use against fighters and attack craft, although Cryophon guns are useful at temporarily stunning Crewships.

However, the main gun's charge up to fire and vibration is really annoying though. It's too easy to miss at the last second when firing at long range and waste a charge - of which you have only 4 before you need to restock.

I'd rather had the weapon be click to fire and have a cooldown after.

They need to stop balancing content in the game around the fastest players that go no life untill they're 100% on everything within a month of a new big update no matter how grindy it is, and start focusing more on the average player that maybe plays a couple hours a week because they have other stuff to do with their lives and likely other games they want to play. Or they're going to continue hemorrhaging players until the game dies.

But...but...Warframe's got 50 million+ registered users! Also they're the best seller on Steam for 2019!

Seriously though, this statement is absolutely correct. I'd also say that DE needs to sit down, focus, and pace themselves. They also need to stop over-promising and under-delivering. Most importantly, they need to listen to and consider the feedback given by normal players - not the try-hards, not the power-fantasy addicts, not the ultra-hardcore fans, and not the no-lifers.
