Bind your "alt-fire" to left mouse button if you're so bothered by such existential questions as "what constitutes a thing's 'main function'?"
A list of my favorite song titles:
- "I Kissed my sweetie with my Obex" by The Obex Four
- "Reach and Flexibility" by Jat Kittag and Orthos Prime
- "Let the Bodies hit the Floor" by... I dunno, anything that doesn't require me to circumvent controls just to make a weapon useful
- "Bang Bang Bang Bang" by Lex (Prime)
A straight 'no' would suffice, but I like to take my time and put some effort into my sarcasm.
-
Ha. Ha. Ha. No.
This is the MOST ammo efficient continuous weapon, maybe tied to Quanta.
I don't believe the alt-fire should be its main function. Were it the case, then the buzzsaw
shouldwould be on the main trigger. If I recall, 5 ammo per shot ain't all that efficient. -
Hardly anyone here is sane enough to defend this weapon. At this point, I'd regard the Grattler as a non-weapon, as I'd be in less danger going straight melee while contributing more in Caelus, Uranus.
Please, defenders, say something about the Grattler that would make me reconsider how bad it is, and make its best features shine. While we're at it, tell me how much DPS the Ignis is capable of when hitting a large crowd while at the same time not killing anything. Or how many advantages the Hind has over the Soma Prime. Or how many status procs per second the Glaxion is capable of when the beam is really short and moves around like a floppy... you know what I mean.
I can't find it in myself to offer anymore constructive criticism when suggestions, pleas and feedback regarding this "grattler" have been ignored, except that it had too large a magazine that recharged too quickly. I wash my hands of this weapon until it's given any attention that will improve it. I'm not expecting anything overnight, just saying my piece.
-
Ignis. As much as I want this weapon buffed, I think we're gonna end up with either a Wraithed or syndicated version of it somewhere in this update.
And the Glaxion. But it's too inaccurate and wastes too much ammo to be of any use at this time. When/If the beam gets fixed, then I'd like to see a buff to its base damage.
-
Still has that puny 250(or so) meter range?
Yes.
Thanks, DE, for making an already weak and functionally useless weapon even more so. Why does this weapon exist at all besides mastery fodder and "vuh-raiety" and sharkwing when literally anything else is a better alternative? This gun isn't even worth mastery points it's so gods-awful.
-
I really hope this was an oversight. Or a joke.
-
wait castanas?? O_O thats........OP lol. OMG I GOTTA FORMA MY CASTANAS NOW!!!!!!
I said "excluding". Castanas don't qualify due to their already explosive nature, while the other thrown weapons do. This mod is basically made to offset "ninja stars'" poor stats by giving them an explosive nature.
-
It's expensive mastery fodder that, in its current state, is not worth a potato. Of course, that's subjective.
-
Can despair use that mod?
Yes. It's exclusively for throwing weapons, excluding Castanas.

Got this gun yesterday and gave it a try. My opinon: Very much like the Dual Decurion, it looks absolutely badass, but its functionality is what kills any interest in it for me. What I saw upon the first few shots:
- Slow firing, despite its magazine size being comparable to the Imperator
- Extremely short range for a freaking cannon
- Low round velocity
- Explosions only for looks and don't function as AoE
- Off-center aiming
The last part of the list is the true killer, as I can't even reliably hit an enemy unless I aim slightly to the right of the target, and I reflexively point my pixel-sized dot on the enemy, so I can't hit. In its current state the Grattler's performance is unacceptable for the high price, and I believe this weapon is in dire need of a buff and fixes. As for constructive criticism (not gonna voice my concern without offering a solution), what I think would solve this gun's problems:
- Significantly faster firing
- Much longer range (along the line of 1000m)
- Faster round speed (on par with Velocitus)
- Eliminate punch-through, but round should explode upon contact of foe, or explode by proximity of nearest foe in the round's path. Also, AoE damage (preferably slash, as shrapnel is quite sharp)
- Rounds should hit where the dot is pointed, give or take a little accuracy loss during prolonged fireThese fixes and buffs would doubtlessly make this weapon a lot more fun to use and less like mastery fodder. I'm lamenting having to use exclusively melee in Caelus, Uranus and not firing a shingle shot until it reaches max rank, then shelving it.

Primed Split Chamber
Mara Brakk
Prisma Edo shoulders
Primed Streamline
Hoping for at least one of these.

Definitely agree on this. The heavy recoil and small magazine size together makes this gun almost functionally useless at ranges other than melee, and melee is pretty powerful, even more so without stamina.
-
Got a code. Let's get to work!

So far, I've tried this mod on the following weapons with Mirage:
Ignis
Glaxion (punch-through)
Phage (punch-through)
Amprex
and no matter what, I can't see any indication that the mod is in effect. The mod description does not give an effective explosive radius so even if I fire into a crowd, I can't tell if it's working. This, I believe, needs to be changed. This mod needs:
- Visual indication of Combustion Beam's effect (foe exploding upon death)
- Explosive radius shown on mod description
- Possible increase to explosive radius if it's 1m or less
- Should also affect secondary beam weapons
The idea behind the mod is a good one, the execution is unfortunately lacking.
-
But, but the projectiles are soo s l o o o w w .
That, and the Harpak doesn't have the benefit of using Terminal Velocity or Thunderbolt.
-
Yes, there is still no reason to use it over actually good auto weapons like SomaP or Boltor P. Even at point blank range.
You can say the same thing for just about any weapon that isn't the Kohm.
-
Weird, I didn't...
Did you check your stance tab in the mod menu when you equipped them? You should automatically have it.
-
Not the best of pictures, but it was on short notice and I have the mod.
I got it when I bought Ack & Brunt.

This + mirage
...
TEEEEN GRAKATAAAAAAAAAAAS
If the twins are available in the market and not in the U17 bundle, this will be the first thing I'm gonna buy and play with.
-
Finaly players might then ask for dual wielding Supras, Gorgons and Ogris and everything but the kitchen sink.
The kitchen sink could be a effective archwing weapon. It would be good to have another arch-weapon that could pulverize machinery.
-
Yep, I'm planning on buying the U17 bundle. If there is a quest involved with the new frame, I'll do that just for the lore.
I'm also hoping the bundle comes with some kubrow armor and a cape.

-1 for no duration on WoF
You all would use fleeting expertise on her making her WoF spammable like hell and then coming to the forum and saying again that Ember sucks, because you are only using WoF and not her other skills.
Ember is one of the few Warframes where the skills are relying on each other. She is no "press4towin" frame.
Of course. She's a "press 2 and use Atomos" frame.
-
Great. This may explain why I'll never again see another Dual Decurion/Fluctus reward unless I buy plat.
