  1. It's good to have some space in the Modification slots so you can arrange them to your like, especially on weapons.

By now you know that certain element combinations produce a secondary effect, like Cold + Electricity = Magnetic.  Now, if you wanted to instead go Viral, having your Polarity slots spaced out here and there allows you to shuffle the Modifications around for the right pairings.

This is a lesson I learned after I Forma'd a Tactical (-) card right at the bottom right slot on my favorite Rifle, because I was using Infected Clip a lot.  That complicated some things when I wanted to mix up for Viral and was using three elemental cards, since the secondary elemental effects take the Modifications in pairs from left to right, top to bottom; with my Toxin Modification always at the end, I either had to throw 4 elemental Mods on for 2 pairings or use just 2 elemental Mods to ensure the Viral pairing.

If that all made sense, give yourself a thumb's up.

EDIT:  I also don't know anything about this Moving Polarity Slots business, or if it's even available on the PS4, but that's where I play and if it's enabled I haven't had any indication of it.

  2. I didn't say remove them from Nightmare Missions, I just said maybe have a small chance of them being in Derelict Exterminate and Capture Missions, so that those missions are actually desirable to run. And there are other items that can be obtained from two different mission types, it doesn't take away from the rewards of those missions...

Wouldn't it be better for Derelict missions to have their own special Mods?

  3. I really want some Warframes with Corpus and Grineer design aesthetics.

I'd love a Warframe that had that rigid, boxy Corpus engineer head.

(No, Vauban doesn't count.  I like him, though, but he doesn't have that "Corpus" look.)

    (Plus, jump platforms are silly.)

  4. I didn't even know we were blocked from Platinum Discount Daily Log-In Rewards until just freakin' now.

Yeah, DE.  PS4 people should get a little more umph on their side to better balance them with the PC players.

PC players had plenty of time to pull in some handsome Had-to-Be-There exclusives.  I don't begrudge them that.  I'm a total proponent of Had-to-Be-There exclusives.

PS4 needs to have some, now.  PS4 needs its own feelings of perks and exclusivity cultivated.

We definitely ought to have a different mechanic to get PC Founder stuff.  You might take a look at those aching gaps in the PS4's Daily Log-In Rewards for some room for "ultra rare" drawings.

  5. Hey, DE.

I can't properly gauge how much health is left on my Titan Extractor, because "(L3) Collect Extractor" has been positioned right freakin' on top of the extractor's energy bar.

    See, look.

    CollectExtractor_zps677d0540.png

What you probably can't see (and I can barely see when I am playing) is that the energy bar for the Extractor is seriously right under that (L3) button icon.  There's still some burned-out bar just before the C in "Collector" after the (L3), and who knows where the damage actually is under that (L3).

Can't this little button tip be set to, like, right-align in that little Titan Extractor Window?  In the lower-right corner?

  6. Man, I threw a Forma onto Excalibur because I didn't even need 4 Ability slots.  Super Jump is next to useless, Slash Dash I might fall in love with one day but not any day soon.  I only ever use Radial Blind and Radial Javelin, so I threw a Forma down to convert an Ability slot to a Tactical slot.

I've been much happier with Excalibur since.  If I ever really want to play with his full set of four abilities again, I'll be able to swallow a maxed Slash Dash at 3 points pretty easily in a blank slot.

And that's what Oberon looks like, right now.

  7. After waiting 3 days to get this haggard paladin-looking Warframe online, my jaw veritably (but not literally) dropped after I went into his Upgrade menu after a quick fight for a few levels.

    Standard four Ability polarity slots.

Three other polarity slots, one of which is a polarized Aura slot, and all of them that V thing.  That V thing that I just looked up and found to be the Attack polarity.

There are five (5) Warframe modifications of that polarity, one of which is a Corrupted mod that doesn't drop anymore.  There are another three (3) Aura cards, all of which are respectable, and really Aura cards are a perfect mechanic in the game even if you're using the wrong polarity mod in that slot.

I have only found one (1) Warframe mod of this Attack polarity the entire time I've been playing.  That card is Provoked.  That is the card that boosts your damage while you're on the ground bleeding out after having your &#! kicked.

Can someone walk me through why it's a good thing for Oberon to be so exceptionally Attack polarized?  I was prepared to shrug off that I only had the one Attack polarity card, but after researching that there are only five (5) Attack polarity cards at all, four of which the game still drops ... well, I found it all very off-putting and think I should just sell the Oberon off to free up the Warframe slot.  After 3 and a half days of producing the jerk, a few hours of farming up all the blueprints, and whatever pile of components went into him.

  8. I only recently discovered this little charming bonus to the Zoren, and I gotta say... it'd be a little foolish to take it out.

If you ask for a consensus as to the "best" weapons - primary, secondary, melee - you'll see that the Zoren only occasionally is mentioned, and it isn't for the roflcopter you can work with it.

The ideal game doesn't have clear winners for "best" this or that - it has plenty of arguing room.  The little speed boost is a feather in the game's gap for keeping Zoren arguable for Best Melee.

  9. I'm really not cool with fighting guys that are invulnerable with no adequate signal.

I assumed the signal was that energy effect on his skin, but it lasted the entire fight.  So I kept shooting here and there, and occasionally I'd get damage, usually I wouldn't.

He even spawned inside map geometry for the first chunk of the match.  He was a pretty clunky and junky fight overall.  I can't think of a reason to go back there.

  10. I've been burned on every Transmutation that I've attempted.

My latest was my last, when I threw 4 Rare quality cards into a Transmutation and got a Vitality card back for 36,000 credits.

I will never use it again, I am sure.  Even if DE overhauls the Transmutation system, nothing short of closer rarity parity of the yield card and more Transmutation-exclusive cards will make me ever look at it again.

  11. I quite like the Grakata in short-to-mid range combat, firing in bursts, with Punch Through mods.  It shreds groups of infested and has a very satisfying sound with that ramped up fire rate.

I would like something more accurate, though.  I am not digging the Paris, so I am looking at Assault Rifles again.

How does the Boltor handle?  Soma isn't unlocked for me yet.  Burston looks very nice, but I don't like burst-fire guns - my trigger finger is my burst-fire.

  12. I'm wondering this, okay.

During the Steam Christmas sale, I randomly won a weapon skin for Warframe there, a Phased Vasto Skin.

I play Warframe on the PS4, however.

When this thing happens between the PS4 and PC (and Steam?) will I be able to use that skin on my PS4 dude?

EDIT:  I haven't 'used' the skin in my Steam inventory to activate it on my account or anything yet.

  13. Yes, the Horizon Line refers to, in this instance, anyway, the area of the screen on which the horizon lies and the abstract of the plane on which the action of a shooter occurs. It's the center of the screen with the view directed toward the horizon.

So, basically, you, the bulk of everybody trying to shoot you, and everyone you're trying to shoot, will be on this plane extending toward the horizon.

And Lotus takes up a quarter of that area with frequent, intermittent messages.

    So here's Lotus with a pop-up.

And here's where I'm clearly outlining the worst possible area for these pop-ups to be, and where Lotus's input really should be located.

Lotus, with the 3rd-person view including the player character, together obscure an enormous area of the Horizon Line of around a quarter or more of the middle third of the screen. That's really quite a blind spot to have, and to have right there.
