SherpaFrank Posted December 11, 2018 Share Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) To facilitate the trading of riven mods I think there should be a virtual Riven Marketplace in game. Players can approach, list the Rivens they wish to sell and the platinum they wish to sell it for. The Rivens are then removed from their inventory and remain on the marketplace until bought or the sell offer is withdrawn. They can be bought from other players at any time, regardless of whether or not the seller is online. Potential buyers can sort through the Riven marketplace by weapon, traits, rolls, and sell price. It's a pretty simple idea honestly, I just want it to be made available so that the trade chat is less cluttered with hundreds of Riven's being sold. If DE wants to potentially monetize this, each individual can start off with 1 to 5 sell slots available, with the opportunity to purchase more for plat. In addition, players will be more likely to purchase platinum directly from DE if they see an available Riven for sale that they want to snag up before any other players can purchase it. As a side note if you guys like the idea, mull over the possibility of a Riven auction house as well, players can list a riven for 72+ hrs and other players can bid on it. As a second side note, as Maroo's Bazaar is already taken I think it should be called Frank's Dank Riven Marketplace. Plat is the premium currency of a Free to Play game. That you can even trade it at all is out of the ordinary. Opinion based on a lot of time with lots of F2P games. I think it's a bit silly that the traders of this game have to stay online for hours upon hours spamming the same message over and over in a vain attempt at selling an item/mod that is good but not highly sought after. Ty, just read an old forum post with a very similar idea except it was a market for every item. Same passive plat argument was brought up and I get it now. I still despise it but it makes sense. Although I edited my original post, I think that if it was exclusively a Riven marketplace, and seeing how all Riven's are unique, players might be inclined to purchase platinum on the spot so they could beat any other potential buyers from snagging up the coveted Riven they want. I don't know if this revenue stream would offset the losses on DE from the passive plat sellers, but I like to think it would.
