Except, it isn't.

So I thought of asking you guys, who has taken her up as starter, how they started, their build and playing style...and have a little chats amongst us. 😊

This topic was originally placed in Off Topic, and is now misplaced here in Feedback.  I say misplaced because this isn't a topic providing feedback to DE, it's OP's attempt to foster a discussion between players on Mag's ins and outs, tips and tricks, builds, etc.

Just for 'controlling the battlefield' Volt is superior, sir.... By making the barricade and stall the enemy, while get the advantaged positions. Mag is more about crack the armor and concentrated fire of sharpnels.

May I be the first to point out your bias?

stares at your profile picture pointedly

Because your bias is showing with your disregard for the subjective position you're arguing from.

Why simply stall the enemy when you can use Mag to barricade, move, stall, kill, and ragdoll the enemies.

Because this is the only way you have used her doesn't mean it's the only or optimal way.  If you're going to be bias, at least try to hide it better.

Yeah, my main frame is Volt, but it doesn't means I didn't play Mag at all. Actually I use Mag as high level grineer specialist, that easily tear aparts even 100+ level grineer heavies.

I don't fond on Magnetize but it has uses on solo play with shotguns - I don't use it on co-op because it is uncontrollable without an augment and usually end up with blocking your teammate's bullets. But if you need to survive and killing is not the main objective, you may cast it. Although it is usually sucks.

Polarize is always surprise me that able to kill the enemy by itself, not only strips their armor. Its damage after cracking armor kills the enemy have weird mechanism if I remember correctly.

Crush's overshield seems good on the survival(not the mission type). Although shield is unaffected by armor level but you will know that more shield is much better than nothing. In my experience it is not so good to use it and hold the enemy without an argument, though. It requires that to bind the enemy, otherwise only stops the enemy while you are casting and it doesn't helps further gunplay.

Yeah, it's almost like Mag's kit lends itself to a different kind of playstyle.

Well, if she is good that much it would be shown on the stastics. But no, it is not.

Statistics ? If one would care about statistics, that would mean McDonald delivers the best food ever tasted. As i said, people who don't know anything try to share their opinion about everything, that's so 2019.

Well, the topic is focused on picking Mag as the starter, I don't think that it is meaningful at all.

I do think that Mag is quite playable on endgame, but starting warframes means they are expected to be quite usable even without any mods for mastery rank 0 players. We don't talk about her endgame settings, in the first place. Also, I do use her on the endgame grineers, so don't think that I am disagrees about the settings of her against endgame grineers - I just want to ensure that endgame level is out of topic.

I would like to disagree with you in few cases. As a player who started and maxed her out very recently(still using her on saturn, uranus runs too); I would like to add, you are quite right about the vulnerabilities in 1st few rank. This is due to the fact of her low armor and low energy and locked abilities upto rank 3 or 5 . but if you sustain that, her arsenal is great. as @DatDarkOne mentioned, pull is quite powerful. It can easily one shot kill more than on enemy.  I dont use 4th ability much, coz once u unlock 2nd and 3rd, that will be it for grineer and corpus respectively.

Though I would like to add one thing, I think, supplementing MAG with good weapons is necessary.

Although I am quite new, I do like to suggest you something, you can experiment. I dont use shotgun playstyle as well too. I think you can use magnetize in quite a few ways, fist of all in solo missions, or with friends, there are some heavy enemy type, which takes up a few bullets or so. use your magnetize on them, and forget about them.

I would like to mention at this, a co-op tactics, me and my friend use. My friend uses excal or rhino, and likes to melee a lot. whereas I nrmally likes to keep my distance, and finish them off. whenever I see a heavy gunner, or Nox, or scorch type enemy, who are very potent and can kill you if you give them the time, I just give hom a heads up, and put bubble on them. that gives him time and luxury to take out swarming minnows.

Also the bubble has the nice feature of bursting out with the damage already dealt to it  by allies. so ultimately the total damage dealt doesnot go to waste. One more use of Magnetize which I do is in rescue on the wardens. it kills them rather smoothly, without raising the alarms.

Magnetize satisfies my inner sadist. Especially when used on a mob or powerful enemies (ones that don't cancel the ability) That would normally be a major problem. See a heavy gunner? Pop a magnetize bubble and watch her shoot herself to death! bwahahahaha!

It's also freaking fantastic to use on Juggernauts and Juggernaut Behemoths.
