Scuttle the floor! Slashing Grineer! Those pesky thorns! Avast ye! A Wukong he plots! With mischievous thoughts, a new captain he sought! A Hydroid he thought more fit to fly, But by Ash’s side the Hydroid would die. Strangers ride among ye in these dark seas, But loyalty be a strong thing indeed! Fiends such as he and ancients long be, Swarm like flies from deep beyond thee. Ballas ye swine, do you hear the bells toll? Umbra sides with us, your head will soon roll. Come grineer, come corpus, come sentients, come all! Don't think we are outmatched just because you are more. Be saryn, be ember, be rhino or frost, No matter the frame, you are already toasted. Just cease your struggling and give us your loot, Avionics or weapons not your stinky boot. A handful of crewships and a hundred fighters? This is not a fight, it'll be just a slaughter. Here comes a crewship, it's just a non-factor, Just slingshot away and take down the reactor. We are being boarded by a bunch of weaklings, A twist of the wrist and they are now kindling. And another crewship, you know your job lads, It’s still the same ship have ya’ll just gone mad?! Just board it or shoot it, do something, destroy it! Or sit back its fine, I'll go out and blow it. I wrote this shanty about all the Tenno who will need to come together to pilot the new Railjacks and what kinds of skills they'll need to be a successful crew. I really hope you guys like it! They say when Piper was but a wee lass She found a fomorian, ancient in years. She fixed the ship up, with her privateers Never again to be seen, til’ we sleep our last, In Captain Piper’s Flying Tavern. Yet the bar ain’t the only attraction. There’ll be assassins and generals and robots and you, Even the Tenno aren’t above downing a pint or two. You’ll be welcome no matter your faction, In Captain Piper’s Flying Tavern. ‘Cause Piper don’t care who walks into her inn, So long as you pay and play nice on her ship. So lay down your arms and unwind away, So that you may forget your sorrows ‘til tomorrow In Captain Piper’s Flying Tavern. So when my soul finally leaves its host I’m sure that I’ll miss this life all the same But do not be sad for me, whatever my fate For I’d be spendin’ my eternity as a ghost In Captain Piper’s Flying Tavern. Author’s Notes Railer - a pun of the word ‘Sailor.’ Used in its stead as while no one sails in the game, navigation is done by rails (Rail Jacks, Solar Rails). Skrum - a drink based off of rum. Piper - a common name by today’s standards, I figured it would be considered exotic by the time Warframe takes place. This forecastle shanty was based off the real life concept of “Fiddler’s Green.” It’s the sailor version of heaven, but far simpler and with less holiness. I figured with multiple wars going on at the same time in the game, the railers would’ve comforted themselves with thoughts of a better life afterwards as they constantly risk dying like the sailors of old. I've heard of a man who knows that path, He's sailed the void, with all its wrath, He fights for justice and he clears the way, He'll board my railjack right away, Whenever I find that man, someday. I've searched many years for that mythic land And I've traveled the stars with many a band But I haven't seen man, moon, or way to point me to them, so I stray among the stars, I'll stop someday. It's for a place like this that we fight, Our engines run both day and night The infestation cannot stay, Grineer and Corpus run away! We're going to stop them all someday.
