The deadline for Round 19 is here: get your submissions in before July 20th at 2pm ET

Any newly submitted pieces or existing creations updated after January 20th will be considered. With TennoCon nearing, we thought everyone would appreciate the extra notice -- we can’t wait to see what the community has prepared for this round!

=====================

All creations must be submitted with the following screenshot guidelines, so we can properly judge your creation. We reserve the right to reject items without proper screenshots, due to our inability to properly review your item.

  • Please make sure to include a tint breakdown.
  • Have at least one well-lit screenshot on a 50% grey background and uncoloured lighting.
  • For Skins and Syandanas, make sure the colouring in your screenshots matches the colouring in the files you uploaded.
  • For Warframe Alt-Helmets, please be sure to match the base colours of the Warframe in your files and in one of the screenshots!
  • Make sure your screenshots are all up to date! If you have comparison shots for previous versions, please indicate which screenshots are of the current iteration -- aka the ones we should be evaluating!
  • Finally, provide both back, front and side views of your creation so we can see the whole picture. These views should not be partial -- we need to see the FULL item from all sides.

That's about it! Happy creating, Tenno! :community:

In regards to Tennogen rules, Why do things need to be updated frequently? not that it doesn't make sense just wondering for a direct reason for clarity. if it's old but still highly requested and seen as a quality piece, is their any technical problem with it not being up to date?

It sucks cause the Nidus Technocyst skin was updated january 19th, one day before the cut off. It's pretty popular as far as warframe skins go at the moment, and Nidus could really use one, especially something that tones down but doesn't lose his infested concept, that way he looks good with more syndannas and armor pieces.

They need to be updated because they were rejected in the first place. The community's opinion and votes doesn't matter. In the end it's DE who decides which skins get in and doesn't. So yeah, they have seen the technocyst skin, and it has been rejected either because of technical issues or stylization, the ladder is the most common case.

While I can't say for what are DE's exact reasons, I believe there are mainly two.

1st is to make sure items are being submitted into the Round. If updating wasn't required, that would mean every item on the Workshop would be 'submitted' for any Round at all times. With that, it's also make sure the creator themselves are actually submitting items, because it would be a bit intrusive for an old item to be added whose creator had no intention of submitting it. As if DE themselves decided to do it for them retroactively.

2nd (and mostly what Goosmo said) is due to those designs already being denied before. Why would DE deny an item and decide to accept it, still unchanged, at a later date? And (again) items aren't considered with votes or popularity in mind.
