Flux rifle is better if you ask me. More range, serrated blade, and it does massive damage. But it doesn't have an AOE so I guess that's a downside. We probably won't know until we get the reward. "Flux Rifle/Ignis Research" is a little vague and can mean the completed research (bad for anyone without a dojo) or it can mean the result of the research, aka the blueprint.
