Not really, my premise is not that I want 'more' of them

its is that I want to be able to get them 'by surprise' without having to do targeted work for them.

So yes, my proposal makes them harder to get (back to pure RNG), but it also makes them More Casual to get.

 

targeted work towards a designated guaranteed loot source feels like work to me.

totally random drops that I wasn't specifically expecting feel like free prizes.

 

Its more a matter of the tone of the gameplay, I don't like specified drop sources. True they benefit serious minimax efficient hardcore grinder players, but I don't want to be in that mindset; I'd rather just play casually, stuff drops into my lap with no need to plan out where to go find it.
