When you were awakened after the Second Dream, the Margulis “Windows Safe Mode” protocol was turned off in exchange for full access to the power flowing in your veins.  Unfortunately accessing that power gave the MITW access to your mind.

The “choices” given are a twice-over detrimental free-will ruse.

Why?

You are both conduit and Void key; the means by which the MITW gains form and substance to enter and conquer our reality.  He simply needs to erase your memory and identity and he becomes you.

Remember what happened to Rel?

Remember how Wally  celebrated the blending of your memories with Umbra, signaling a step towards the loss of identity as they became indistinguishable from your own?

No, the “choices” given are not an act of self-determinism or free will.

They let the MITW know what strategy to apply so that you more quickly suffer Rel’s Fate and become him as he slowly takes your mind and individuality.

Drink it?  Seduction through power it is.

Dump it?  Ignorance, rejection, and denial.

Hold it/lack of action?  Complacency, illusion of control and indecision.

See I like that idea. Of wally wants to take control of us. That our doppelganger is our hallow selves that waiting to take control. They could do a really neat boss fight with the idea.

Bleach hallow Ichigo anyone. The new war and the duviri paradox all perfect the time to dive into it. Overhaul the tenno in every way.  DBZ fuse our current selves with the duviri paradox us to break lotuses mind control and beat the sentients.
