No viral stacks on Acolytes and no status effects of team mates

In my last steel path mission I couldn't get any viral stacks on acolytes no matter what weapon I used. Every other enemies worked just fine.

But the strange thing is that my mates didn't have any problem with that. in addition I couldn't even see any status affect they applied on the acolytes and I was the only one with that problem.

 

Is it a bug or a mechanic I dont know?

Acolytes are immune to Viral procs because DE made Viral too strong.

I read that too but my mates were able to apply viral on the acolytes and in the wiki it isn't even mentioned that they are immune to viral procs.

And it also doesn't explain why I couldn't see their status effects on the acolytes

I know they can be affected by Status but I don't know to what capacity since DE has been all over the place when it comes to Enemies these days with their picky defensive mechanics....
