The Problem with Base Damage Warframe Abilities

honestly, being able to switch at will is such a massive boon, especially since (for now) DR stacks.

sure, 90% (or 75% on subsume) on its own is not that big. but what if you put it over mesa's 1 and run adaptation?

now you have 75% from your 1, 95% from your 3 and 90% from adaptation. 99.875% damage reduction. factor in the base DR on your shields and you get 99.9375% damage reduction.

that's an EHP multiplier of 1600x

Power buff should be 130% for mirage and 75% for helminth both multiplicative
Defense buff should be 80% for mirage and 50% affected by strength mod for helminth so non-mirage need more strength investment.
Toggle between one or the other. Recasting overwrites the old buff.

Making it additive cuts final damage by 40-80%

These people saying "it makes no difference" have no clue how the game or math works. When mirage has power buff toggled instead of damage reduction she will be very squishy. She should be a glass cannon in that state and get her multiplicative damage boost

Additive damage blows because we have a ton of it from other sources nowadays, and we will have even more in the future as the game continues to creep and scale, and increases to guns outpaces ability strength.

Multiplicative, however, is always good.

It's kinda a bad nerf. I hope they reconsider.

Why reconsider? At what level in the game would this honestly matter?

I think the overall benefit of a now reliable, selectable, still very strong offensive buff, and a reliable, selectable, still very strong defensive buff, more than justifies a nerf that people would have to spend a lot of time in level cap in order to try and prove the numbers truly matter, while no longer trying to stay in areas that the original ability required.
