Will I need to repay faction syndicate rank ups costs if I go back down a rank?

I have three faction syndicate (Red Veil, New Loka & Perrin Sequence) at max rank and I have been thinking of adding another one, but that runs the risk of having one of the other syndicate go down a rank... I don't mind the standing grind, but will have I to pay again the rank up costs in credits and items?

as someone who's swip-swapped between all 6 syndicates I can assure you you will not have to make rank-up sacrifices you already made again. You only ever need to make each sacrifice once

No, but you might have to pay the rank up costs for going from -2 -> -1 and -1 -> 0.

If you drop one rank you can rank back up for free. If you drop more than one rank you need to pay the cost again.

You can get Steel Meridian to max without any downsides btw. Just play Red Veil missions. It will be slower, but you should max out standing after like 2 SP event alerts (defense is the best)

Hmm, guess they changed it. Awesome! Though it doesn't seem to have remembered that I already paid Veil/Meridian, so I still have to repay those. Maybe you only have to pay off negative ranks or something.

If you never ever before were in the negatives with them, and then ranked up into the positives,
then your current situation where you are in the negatives trying to rank up
of course still costs sacrifices, since you never did that / paid those before.
