Are the "virtuous" arcanes kind of useless?

Because they convert the damage up to 100% from void damage into one of a small selection.

Does turning the void energy into heat make it so your AMP can no longer damage Eidolon shields or kill Vomvalyst?

If yes, then the arcanes are useless past 24%?

If no, then which of those elements would be good for eidolon hunts and fighting sentients?

If they ADDED that kind of damage instead of converted, 
then they would all be good in their own settings, 
which I think DE wants with all their stuff, for it all to be useful to a degree.

Virtuous Surge only levelled to 50% so there's still void damage in there. Void Sling when combined with Magus Melt and Eternal logistics grants more firing uptime, and changes the damage type to radiation (which is still best against Eidos) to deal the actual damage to the Teralyst. Void Strike to deal increased damage and get an effectively bottomless battery.

If you go beyond 100%, your amp won't deal damage to Eidolon shields anymore, I assume same for Vomvalysts.

The idea behind those arcanes was mostly that Void damage was garbage back then, so having some Heat / Viral or other S#&$ was nice, it also gave another option for Profit Taker

It most likely uses the one that converts to Electricity in combination with the operator arcane that grants extra Heat damage on void sling to get Radiation damage, which Idolons are (were?) weak to.
