My Hopes For The Livestream

i only have one hope for this live stream.DE tells us something besides whats coming "soon" the last 2 dev streams now have done nothing but show a few pieces of art say they are working hard and keep talking about things in progress. this live stream will mark 6 weeks now if they dont change the pattern.

Now i know most of you jump right to the thought of melee 2.0 but this isnt even about that. Just about everything they show or talk about is just "soon" all of the end tier things in game are being worked on less then Melee 2.0 and as of the last time they had to comment about that, the earliest is the middle of april. (they will probably talk about that once again today) but they can talk about all these amazing things they want but almost 2 months and nothing new? there had to be about 6 or 7 huge ideas they talked about last dev stream and the one they seemed to be putting the most work into is melee 2.0.

Also im talking about since the regular 4 were there. there was the one dev stream about the HUD and even then the bonus dev stream did the same as the rest.

honestly i used to play this game a lot and would always find something to do because i had hope in DE but not lately. havnt played since the operation. invasions used to but they are a joke now. daily login bonuses dont even get me on lol. i come on once every Wednesday just to see if they did anything interesting yet. either way ill be playing my one mision every two weeks today after the Dev stream.

Hopefully there's more talk besides "soon" things.

Really I just want some actual confirmations on things.

The livestreams seem like they've never really been more than a "This is what we're working on, and our feedback to your feedback" kind of thing, so I can't really be shocked that they tend to talk about whats coming and what they're planning, especially when the devstreams tend to be sprinkled here and there whereas they're working probably mon-fri, and maybe some weekends. (I don't pretend to know.)

That said, I get so tired of hearing hollow things and then having them hyped and built up just to get some lackluster piece of the game that hardly anybody will use. Remember the Codex and how hype that was? POKEFRAME NE1? Yeah, most new players don't even know it's there, and most old players don't care that its there. BUT HEY THAT S#&$ WAS HYPE YO!

Even this new "Melee" sentinel got hyped as hell for like, 2 days after it was showed and look at what we got, A steaming pile of "20 credits a scan."

Either way, I don't care really. The fact that they do these dev streams in the first place is awesome, but it really does suck clocking 75MPH to get home from work in time to catch the stream live just to hear:

Soon. "Around the Corner."

I just miss when things were simple, like talking about the tutorial revamp.

I also hope that DE gives us something to help promote loyalty to the game. I also have not played since the core-escort event, since I've been around so long that there's not really anything else for me to do except farm the one or two primes I'm missing. While end-game content would be appreciated, I'd be happy with the slapped on bandaid of 'tenno reinforcements' we've been getting so often, just so I have something to level. Instead, we got a scarf and a sentinal.
A sentinal who's primary claim to fame is autoscanning.
When the scan/codex system gives you no benefit in the first place.
Time for another week of waiting for ACTUAL content!

Hey, whatever it is, it's going to be interesting.

Don't set yourself up for disappointment.

My guess is that we'll see some more hub teasers, maybe get a release date for Hek and enjoy watching Scott and Geoff squirming uncomfortably on the couch in response to questions about stealth. :D

Okay so many complaints. De do not want to over spoil or raise too much hype/hope and when they couldnt complete in time being would complain even more. The reason why this Tenno reinforcement was just a scarf and a sent is because people were complaing about too many weapons being released. De always gives and promotes loyalty and if you fail to see that then you werent true to being with. They constantly listen and hotfix things to what people ask for. You wanted trading BOOM got it, trade prime parts have it as well, lower tenno reinforcements okay done, void drops(still meh) worked on. THey do all this while working hard on the over hyped Melee 2.0 which is why its taking so long because they want to meet the expectations of their player base.

Honestly atleast the Devs do Prime Time and Dev Livestreams often compared to other games, replied pretty quick when you need help and they play their own game with the playerbase and hear about feedback while taking notes down. They are dedicated and do not wish to displease the fellow tenno so be patient and wait and just enjoy what they offer and give your support by reporting bugs, and other issues and help the lower ranked tenno to enjoy the game more.

Okay so many complaints.

*snip*

I acknowledge that DE is busy with other content and that people were complaining about too many weapons; the lack of weapons isn't my point. My point is that DE is waving around a lot of big ideas that'll take MONTHS to implement, while giving very little information on what we can expect next week or the week after.

DE does a mediocre job of rewarding loyalty. I've been playing since the early closed beta, and the two 'resets' I've experienced (changing to the mod card system, and damage 2.0) did very little to reward the more veteran audience with apologetic content, BOTH of which kept things secret up until practically the last second, so there was no easy transition. Hotfixes are used to fix bugs that DE missed, or to change something back that the community got up in arms over. Trading was appreciated, but prime trading was just a hasty bandaid for the broken void drop system; if it was intended to allow trading of rare things, I should be able to trade a Dread blueprint.

Honestly, the overhype of Melee 2.0 was their own fault. They blew it wildly out of proportion for what they were actually planning, and continue to add to the problem as weeks go on. They'll never be able to work fast enough to catch up to the amount of hype generated every week, along with the now additional annoyance and disappointment.

I appreciate the Devstreams more than anyone, I do. But sitting in front of a camera every week being embarrassed doesn't make DE amazing, it just means they're the best of the worst when it comes to a problem that all free to play games suffer from.

TLDR; DE needs more and better communication, not over-hyped advertising

I'll be back when all the "soon" talk becomes "right now" walk ;)

It never will.

As I previously stated, the point of the Devstream is to let us know what is in development.

It is not there to announce what is happening right now - that is what the patch notes/event announcements on the forums are for.

Wow, surprised to see so many complaints towards the devstream.

Really, be grateful that theyre atleast giving out information on development progress and answering questions, rather than not giving out any information at all.

I like the Dev streams whether or not they promise content for the very next update. I don't like it when they withhold too much info for us to even give enough feedback on it before it releases.

Given, we should try rather than hear some ideas, but if something for melee 2.0 turns out to have something that a lot of people would not like/are against, it would be great if that was completely averted, rather than just be surprised about it and have it fixed eventually.
