I like names with meanings. and not references, like poseidon, or triton. those would be examples of overused names. hydroid is unique If it were Digimon it'd be Hyroidmon. So It's pokemon... it does sound like a Pokemon's name but it does actually have a proper meaning. this guy gets it. hy(an)droidmon, however, would be a digimon All F2P games are contractually obligated to have a character named Ash. This was decided by the Pokemon High Council of 2001. please, it was the Evil Dead Summit of 1987 I would have prefered either Takoashi or Capt. Squid-Billy. Hydroid lacks a certain magic. It'll probably grow on me but probably not in the time it takes me to get him to 30. I'm glad the community at large doesn't get to vote on these things.. They made it a name you will remember, even if it is stupid you wont tie to another game. Sure it sounds like a pokemon or a digimon, but its not. There isn't anything in either of those named that way. They did something unique, like that of this game, which is unique. You don't like it? Fine. That's your opinion, but you will remember it.
