What If Shields Could Not Regenerate

Oberon has no influence over a frame's shields, Trinity and Mag have (with shield polarize and blessing). And with the new Rail Conflicts coming really soon, I see these 2 almost becoming a necessity.

what if shields could not. or had at least, a much slower regeneration. As in maybe 10 shield / sec tops

then maybe healing frames like mag trinity and Oberon would finally be appreciated if they join the team.

I hope no heed to this idea.

but tell me why you do not like it

except endless missions and maybe t4 this game has no challenge. I try to create one.

 

Decreasing the shield regen rate does not make the game a challenge. Experienced players are capable of both dodging enemy fire and killing AI opponents within seconds.

If you wish to make a challenge, I'd say you take a look on how the Corpus and Grineer can arm themselves better against the Tenno.

Having not recharging or slow recharging shields just don't fit in this game. Not recharging would mean they are no different from health and slow recharge would mean long cover times, to recharge or of course you have to bring a Mag or Trin to every match. Warframe is a fast paced game, slow shields would be just a nuissance if forced upon players.

Not to mention that it might be easy as a seasoned player, but starting solo as an Excal you might aprecciate recharging shields that don't take too long doing so.

 

As somebody allready stated, do nightmare mode or go with a low leveled retribution mod in missions.

Ever played Global Agenda? We could run missions with no medics, or 4 snipers, just fine.

 

Shields are a form of Metagame, take them out and nothing changes, everyone just shifts metagame.

 

Oh, and also. Shield Restores FTW ... but you'll nerf that too, right?

Spam Shield Polarize? Nerf that too?

Rhino running maxed Iron Skin? Now "overpowered". Another nerf?

 

When do you stop exactly?

Removing shield regen wouldn't make Oberon, Trinity and Mag more appreciated.

 

It'd just mean that everyone would only play Trinity, Iron Spam Rhino and Valkyr... With maybe a few Perma-Invis Loki hanging around.

 

The only reason why people don't appreciate Oberon and Trinity is because a lot of people forgo any sort of defensive modding because "Gotta get the DEEPS!" and so being sneezed at by a single Mutalist Osprey (Literally) will kill them regardless of healers... Or they just want to perma-CC everything so that no-one takes damage anyway.

What a sad day to be Volt.

 

A challenge has to come with a reward. No shield in Nightmare comes with mods. If you want this kind of challenge, develop a key similiar to vault key but give an extra reward at the end or in-game such as

 

"-75% health key" - Comes with innate health regen or faster shield regen.

 

Stuffs like that

When each and every frame dies in a single shot,

all weapons do 10 damage per shot, swing etc, serration, vital sense and point strike are removed completely (becuz ehmergerd i kill 2 fast, gaem ez, pls nerf), and elemental mods give a %chance to proc said element and give no actual bonus damage.

 

Nova is completely removed from the game due to the fact that she can kill things and stuff,

 

Rhino either gets iron skin that's the pre-nerf indestructium-snowglobe OR gets destroyed in 0.2 seconds anywhere < not even the community is sure what they actually want with this thing.

 

The Boltor turns into a nerf gun because after 5 formas it's too strong.

 

Melee weapons get so many combos that you'd need three more keys to pull them all off, except heavy weapons that apparently need the charge attack back because they're completely useless without it

 

when every weapon is magically capable of coptering

 

But then things would be too hard and the other half of the community would ask for buffs
