On Recent Trinity Changes

You know what, I'm ok with the hit to Blessing's healing/shield restoration. It can be recast before the duration ends anyway, so it's not like we're really taking that much of a hit. I just don't understand why Well of Life and Link are continually left in the dust. WoL continues to be useless, for lack of a better term. Link on the other hand is becoming increasingly oudated due to its speed (or lack thereof) of casting and inability to recast before the duration expires. Abilities across the board are suffering from what I like to call "awkward casting syndrome", where they cannot be recast before the duration expires, make your frame have to stop moving just to cast them, cannot be cast in mid-air, etc.

Ironically, one of the worst abilities in the game, Nyx's Psychic Bolts, has one of the most seemless casting animations out of all the frames we have access too. It has a short cast, can be cast while moving/sprinting, and doesn't require that all the bolts hit a target/dissipate before you can recast the ability.

I agree with this.

It was brought up that even Excal has this issue because Super Jump leaves you unable to use a different ability (such as Slash Dash or Radial Blind) for the first two seconds or so of leaping into the air, which limits the use and mobility of a skill that does 0 damage and is only supposed to be used for tactics and mobility...

So it's definitely a long-standing issue with a lot of frames and abilities.

Youre seriously saying link isnt useful enough as is ._.

Not that it isn't useful, but that its mechanics and casting are outdated. Its entire casting animation is painfully slow for something that is so crucial to survival at higher levels, and it necessitates constant monitoring just so that you can recast when it ends or you will get one-shot by something. It either needs to have a near-instant cast time a-la Blessing, or we need to be able to recast it before the duration ends.

I personally think it could also stand to get a buff to the damage reduction. It could start at 75% and go at intervals to reach 90% at max rank. It's not going to be affected by power strength either way, so at least we get rewarded for investing in it.

Natural Talent if you want the animation to go any faster. We have mods for a reason.

As for the damage reduction 75% is plenty considering you can also use it with blessing. And upgrading it upgrades the duration i believe.

I agree that WoL needs to get looked at - especially since the new Blessing changes.  If you thought it wasn't used all that much before, imagine how often it'll be used now that Blessing doesn't have a 'cooldown'...

A casting-time increase on Link would be nice as well, but WoL really needs the attention more imo.

Painfully slow?

Its a fairly quick power already

Its actually stronger than it needs to be as is

I wouldnt push for a nerf but if it got one i wouldnt complain either and shes my second most favorite frame

same here :D Trinity is actually more powerful now, you can build a duration build without sacrificing the spammable heal :D

I am wondering what the catch is.  I am waiting for a huge nerf.  It makes no sense to nerf something then give it a huge buff, making it better than what it was before the initial nerf. I am expecting a major nerf.

Remember Absorb.

Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Seriously though.  There is no logic in this change, and I am predicting a follow up nerf.

Based on recent gameplay with her it seems to be in a decent spot right now.

I'll quote you on this in a month and we'll see what happens.

I already use Natural Talent. I have literally been one-shot during a sped-up recast of Link.

my biggest gripe is that Power Strength doesn't let you overheal Players for temporary extra Health & Shields :(

that would have been really cool.

While a interesting concept, that would simply be overkill considering Blessing already grants damage reduction.

my suggestions:

-replace well of life with a new dmg reduction AoE/aura/single target spell (AoE/aura would cost more than 25mana obviousliy) with a fixed dmg reduction percentage (40% @ max. rank? that way we couldn't reach 100% reduction with max. power str...or a bit higher and power str mods can't affect it)

-remove dmg reduction mechanic entirely from blessing and let us overheal if we are above 100% heal. the bonus HP and shields would drain relatively quick over time

-leave EV and link untouched

after the recent patch there is only one build for her. with those aforementioned changes we could start to be creative with duration/power str./even range mods.

Maybe we can discuss about Well Of Life cause it's the classic "end-game useless ability" that has near every warframe but link, for real link? I think that link is one of the most powerful skills in game and that skill can allow you to tank better than a rhino with maxed blind rage if you know how to use it.

That sounds far too overpowered for her first ability.

This actually sounds like it would do more harm than good. How would an extra health/shield bar beat damage reduction?

dmg reduction on a timer is basically the same as extra hp and shields on a timer. also the concept of hierachical 1/2/3/4 skills with 25/50/75/100 mana cost is long out of the window, mirage being the prime example. also the change would lead to a wager between a set of 4 useful skills (different possible builds/specialisation) instead of now there being one http://goo.gl/Zc0N4o definite build to have everything. diversity is good in my book

To be fair: most frames have a useless ability or even more. WoL being useless is not as big of an issue, considering that the remaining three are pretty damn good. But yeah, it's useless and it wouldn't hurt to look at it.

You're right about Link not being recastable though: I hate that you have to wait for it to end. It doesn't make sense you can't refresh it whenever it's most convenient. It's not like that would be OP or anything (and even if it were, you could fix that by temporary disabling Link during the cast animation).

that's my whole point...her three useful abilities are too strong in conjuction. therefore my suggestion to split her (arguably) most useful skill in two seperate skills. having to sacrifice a whole mod slot to run a complete skillset is a nerf in itself. picking 2 skills with different specialisation leads to variety and different playstyles (duration link tank vs. power str energy vampire single target assassin etc.)

dmg reduction on a timer is basically the same as extra hp and shields on a timer.

If your suggested "overshield: acted just like extra hp/shields, then it would certainly be grossly outmatched by damage reduction on a timer.

Flat values will always be outpaced by percentage values.
