AVEOX
Not sure if this can be in this section of the forum? Kinda Offtopic, move it if it is, but I got a question.. How do you pronounce "Praline" ? I work at Starbucks and one of our new holiday drinks is called "Chestnut Praline" but I feel like I'm pronouncing it wrong.. Is it "Prey-leen", "Praw-leen" or "Praw-Line" ? Edited November 5, 2014 by AVEOX
Morgax
I vote for Praw-leen. Also are you a "Bearrista"?
Sidathe
Prey-leen. I went to New Orleans for Halloween. They were everywhere. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/praline And what Webster says. Edited November 5, 2014 by Sidathe
Angius
Rather something like "Prah-leen" I believe. With an accent on first syllabe. Edited November 5, 2014 by Angius

(PSN)IIIDevoidIII
It's better for Off Topic. It is indeed "prah-leen". Edit: I bring internet proof! http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/praline
direcyphre
As a conniseur of sugary confections, 'Pray-leen' is the optimal pronunciation. However, if you pronounce it and someone attempts to correct you, just explain that you are pronouncing it per the original dialect of its origin (and make up some culture if you have to). AVEOX
I guess it doesn't matter, as long as I make the drink right. XD I vote for Praw-leen. Also are you a "Bearrista"? And yes, certified!
notlamprey
In Alabama, we use "prah-leen." In Louisiana, I always hear "pray-leen." Either way is fine, because anybody who is going to heckle you over it deserves to sit in a puddle of their own grump.
