MechaTails
Patreon is a site where you can give money to artists you like. The more money you give them the more art they create. You support them essentially, great idea. When you go on the site youre given very beautiful examples of artwork on there. Lush landscapes, glass mosaics, classic portraits, etc. However, any time I see artists asking for support for their Patreon its usually something like "Please support me on Patreon to see more!" followed by half finished drawings of naked chicks, underage girl pantyshots, lesbian scenes, and titties galore. Whats going on? Is Patreon secretly the newest seedy underbelly of digital erotica?
TheErebus.
That depends on who the hell you're viewing. I know a lot who do webcomics, web shows (linkara, todd in the shadows) etc.
SgtFlex
Honry 14 year olds with their mums credit card, enuf said But really, you can't generalize the entire site like that even if some are popular. Twitch has popular streamers that are full off cleavage, but it doesn't mean that's what Twitch is full of. AdunSaveMe
Ehhhhh Most people like to get money out of it, and patreon is a good way to do so. I'm not a fan of the way they do it, but it's certainly nothing new.

Katakuna
Saying it's just for porn would be a bit of a stretch, but of the H-content creators that I'm aware of, it's a fairly popular method of acquiring funds.
MechaTails
Its weird because i'll follow an artist elsewhere who focuses on drawing bunnies, for example, and then when they do a plug for their Patreon page the bunnies suddenly sprout boobs and a thong rofl Its so weird to see artists make risque versions of their usual work, as if thats whats expected from them, or they think its expected, once money is involved. That'd be such a 180 if that kind of artist ever existed. But honestly it's not suprising. As someone else said "Sex sells" so you'll have people come in and support you for sex related things even though it's not really your style.
