EmptyDevil
The thing is that I dont really trust her because she saved us once doesn't mean we should trust her as she is also holding information about our past and wont share it with us makes it even more fishy We don't have a reason to trust Red Veil or any syndicate either; The syndicates didn't save us and are using us as tools. Lotus is withholding information but it probably isn't in a malevolent way but in a protective mom way.

Yea. Fail there. Withholding information may be for the best. Until the current situation is resolved, or we get into a better shape that information may push some Tenno over the edge. What they will commit then is unknown. Suicide? Homicide? Becoming insane? The Lotus only showed us kindness and care. S.T.M.P.D
It's not locked because all things considered, this is actually a rather healthy discussion on opinions on the Lotus, and the other factions. It's hilariously rare to get these kinda threads. Are you kiddin'? "Don't trust the Lotus" threads are a STAPLE of classic Warframe forum comedy. They're like Adam Sandler movies; there's a billion of them, nobody mildly intelligent likes them, but they continue to make a boatload of cash and keep on getting pumped out. Siphersh
nobody mildly intelligent likes them. Yeah, right, because the intelligent ones are those who believe that what they see happening to the victim of the "capture" mission is them being "escorted to the extraction point". Oh please. Those poor bastards are Grineer and Corpus bosses. Lancers and crewmen might be commiting brutalities under orders, but those fellas are the ones who GIVE the orders, sort of like Himmler (yes, Himmler). They deserve to be digitized and have their mind dissected.

It's some kind of teleportation technology... you are reading way, way too much into that. Also it's just a video game and they are just trying to make it easy for you so you don't have to have some annoying mechanic where you try to escort the captive all the way back. If we can be teleported into a tower room in a lot of these missions, we can teleport a captive to an extraction point. Seriously reading too much into that lol. There is nothing there that you think is there. It's just a game mechanic and means nothing.

The ones controlling and enslaving much of the system. The corpus? The ones proven to not have morals. Be a free agent and watch the system burn for amusement? GodSlayerXXX
I think we should get a choice on who is the one to speak and guide us through our battles. I personally think we should be able to choose after the rank 3 unlocking the syndicate and maxing out a syndicate whether we become a operant of that syndicate and ditch the lotus. If this was a option i would've joined the red veil by now and i kinda wish we got a choice instead of blindly following the lotus into battle and be able to chose whose motives we think are right *cough* *cough* Red Veil #DeathToTheLotus "You are a fire as feared as you are respected" - Red Veil The Lotus is the the reason the tenno are alive and in the world again. Death to the Lotus means death to the tenno. The Lotus is the way, always. But yes, the option to choose would be cool. Zafarrancho
We don't need anyone to control us. I disagree. IMHO, Tenno are just murderous psychopats, they are nothing without discipline. All that ritualistic bullcrap the orokin gave them was meant to control their chaotic and homicidal nature (it failed spectacularly, though, unless they were being controlled from the shadows by a superior entity) So I think that they NEED someone to control them, and one of the most important fronts of the actual war is "The one that controls the Tenno will control the universe". My opinion, ofc. :P
Ionus
We don't have a reason to trust Red Veil or any syndicate either; The syndicates didn't save us and are using us as tools. Lotus is withholding information but it probably isn't in a malevolent way but in a protective mom way. Steel Meridian seems to be the exception. They seem to be the most "open" with their intention of protecting the weak and vulnerable. All the other ones are quite vague with what their philosophies entail. It's a bit ironic because Red Veil had an MO closer to Steel Meridian when they were first introduced. #Steel4Lyfe Edited July 29, 2015 by Ionus

Popperce
If you did most of the events, you can see we do not follow lotus, we do not get orders, we accept missions(once we accept then certain rules apply from the payer or lotus), and we always have choice. We defy her cry for our own safety ( The grustrag three) We even stood and watched our own relays get blow up because pay wasn't good. DO not speak ill of Lotus, you, milk drinker. Kaisty
Surpirse this isen't lock yet. Sigh remmebr this, lotus helps us when we need it, she guides us when we are lost, she picks you back up when a misson is bad. And always remember IT"S THE GRENIER! (Sorry, but I couldn't help myself with posting a random stupid conspiracy theory that just popped into my mind.) You can believe the "propaganda" that Lotus picks you back up when the missions go bad, but the real truth is that it is all Klem. When the Grineer say "Get Clem" they are insulting the tenno because they think the tenno can actually take on the units in the ship and survive. After you are knocked down and left for dead, Clem comes forth and gathers all the down'ed tenno and their companions (E.G. Kubrows / Sentinels / etc.) and puts them in his giant waste bin (he does volunteer cleanup work when not with the SM). He takes us away, heals us up, and then kicks us back onto our ships for the fee of.....all the items and a good chunk of xp you found during your run. If you wonder why the Grineer and other factions agree to this, it is because Clem has done it for so long that his gear loadout is too OP for them to handle. His gear setup has enough aura mods that they nuke rooms of foes through the walls. You think the tactical alert where DE had level 1000+ troops showing up was tough? Clem does those runs with MK gear and no mods for a "light workout". Why is it that DE set up the Formorian event where they would leave behind at least three relays? Clem was buying cleaning supplies on those three and Hek didn't want to risk irritating them. Hek had more Formorians waiting to take us all out, but he blew up the relay that took the 80% off coupon for new mop heads. Manics only tackle and claw you because the last Manic that wouldn't stop beating on a downed tenno got a drop kick from Clem so hard the Queens felt it. The only reason why the G3 get away with only bolting us instead of killing us is because the last time they killed a tenno; Clem killed them, revived them, and then "rinsed and repeat" it enough times till they learned their lesson. Whay I am trying to say here is that Clem is love and Clem is life! Sure he may be a medallion collector for SM when you go and see him on the Relays, but when you are not there, that guy is out trying to make sure the Tenno can still do what they do. Sure SM sends their units after their enemies, but that is because if they didn't do it then Clem would probably show up and challenge you himself.....and lets just say he needs more than 5 raid parties to take down.
