but i disagree with adding multishot to melee, thats just another crutch, IMHO all of the base core dmg mods are bad and should be removed (but thats another issue)

 

atm however melee's dmg issues could largely be fixed by doing 1 or more of a few things

 

pressure point could give +40% per rank instead of +20% and have 10 ranks

 

the melee combo counter should scale up a lot faster and go higher as well, ie : [instead of requiring 5 hits for a +50% and 3x for every .5 step up]

 

2 hits - +50%

4 hits - 1x

6 hits - 1.5x

8 hits - 2x

10 - 2.5x

20 - 3x

30 - 3.5x

40 - 4x

50 - 4.5x

60 - 5x

70 - 5.5x

80 - 6x

90 - 6.5x

100 - 7x

200 - 8x

300 - 9x

400 - 10x

etc

 

or 2 hits - 2x

4 - 3x

8 - 4x

16 - 5x

32 - 6x

64 - 7x

128 - 8x

256 - 9x

512 - 10x

1024 - 11x

etc

 

finally they could give all melee a scaling dmg buff based on its rank, ie +5-10% per rank, so even with no mods, a melee would gain some dmg per rank, totaling around +150-300% base dmg at rank 30
