The only other way Is maybe, maybe gift a orokin catalyst if I was rude to one of my alliance/clan members. If it's not a really valuable mod or if it's something I have a lot of like stances, I'll sometimes just toss one to someone in a trade for a super common mod (since the game forces there to be something echanged). As for actually using the gift function of the market, I've only done it once since I tend to keep my platinum for slots and the occasional cosmetic item. I have too much of those and I'm sure someone else can use them better then me. And let's not forget the ridiculous amount of weapons skins and such that are piling up in my inventory.
