Select "Solo" in "Matchmaking". This is the only way.

You don't. The game needs servers to function.

That being said, if you're in a solo-only game and you get disconnected, it won't kick you out immediately. If you reconnect before you end the mission, you'll still get rewards.

there is no "true" offline mode, simply because when you can play offline it means information is stored on client side and then people can cheat.... ALOT.

You could actually play offline in solo mode before.

If were playing solo and got cut out from the internet, there would be no problems, you could still play and you can still play for a while, obviously you needed to connect online before ending the mission to log the results and update your account.

Sadly this doesn't work as well as before, after a few minutes without connecting online, the game will send you to the login screen, so if you lose connectivity, make sure to restore it as soon as possible, the game will allow you to play, but it won't be forever, so be carefull.

I don't care about this, only want to be invisible while playing. It's a normal thing on consoles.

Solo and not connected to the internet is the only way to be invisible to your friends.

It can't be done over long periods of time.

u can't stay offline but u can minimize the usage of internet by playing solo it's only takes less then 90kb of data for doing one solo mission and also set matchmaking to solo too otherwise someone jump in and vast data charges will be applied

Since everyone is missing the point here, there is no way to play and be invisible to your friends, you could delete everyone from your friends list but that would be your only option. Perhaps when chat 2.0 releases it may be possible but currently warframe does not have this functionality.
